When I stepped out from the trees the place I called home came into clear view, "Welcome to my village, Zoya," I told him, I looked over it, the small homes built by our father's own hands. The crops, and cattle by our mother's hands. This is was home, where everyone had a part and everyone loved our home. I led Challa through the group of people. I opened the door to my home. "Mother, we have a guest," I said allowing Challa to walk through before following him. "He is injured," I said frowning my mother put down what she was holding. She turned to him.

"Let me see, child," my mother told him Challa looked at me and I nodded in encouragement, Challa picked up his shirt to show a wound that went from under his belly button to the bottom rib. My mother tsked "Come," She said leading him to a room in the back. I followed them. "What is your name?" my mother asked

"Challa ma'am," He replied

"Challa, I am Kali," She said washing out the wound that had stopped bleeding, "How exactly did you get this wound,"

"I was in the forest, an animal of some sort it got agitated and it came toward me," he explained I looked at my mother as she hummed.

"Animals are confusing beings, this wound looks like it was caused by a large cat," my mother told him as she prepped a needle to sew him some stitches. "This wound will need a few stitches," she told him and he nodded and she began to sew up the wound. When she finished she stood "You should get some rest, I'll have Ayana fetch you a little before dinner," Challa nodded and my mother pulled me out of the room.

"I found him in the forest, I had to bring him," I explained in a whisper my mother sighed

"Keep a close eye on him, Ayana, we don't know the dangers he could bring," my mother advised wisely

"I will mama, I promise," I told her she smiled lightly placing her hand on my cheek.

"My beautiful girl," she said kissing my forehead and walking away, I smiled lightly before turning and leaving the room.
