I sighed as I walked back home in silence, I brought that man into my home only for him to completely disrespect us. I wiped a stray angry tear from my cheek as I walked into my home. "Ayana where's Challa," I scrunched my nose as I turned to my father.
"I'm sorry father," I apologized my dad furrowed his eyebrows as he stepped forward "I don't know why I didn't see it in the first place. He acted like he was trained. When he told me his name he hesitated. I am a fool father," I said
"Who was he, Ayana?" My father asked
"Prince uh... Prince T'Challa of Wakanda father..." I spoke my voice lowering to below a whisper. My father lets out a sigh as he wipes his face.
"Did you tell him anything that could potentially harm us, Ayana?" My father asked I shook my head and my father let out a happy sigh placing his hand on my cheek "it is okay child, you are no longer naïve to his lies, you found it quick and like cancer cut it out. I am proud of you Ayana," my father praised I shook my head
"But father," he shook his head "I am sorry father..." I told him
"I know child, it is okay," he said kissing my forehead "you should go to bed my daughter, tomorrow is a day of preparations," he spoke and I nodded turning on my heel and got ready for bed. I laid my head to sleep.

"Ayana," a voice whispered and something pushed me, I opened my eyes to see my brother, Makalo, who looked at me with a look on his face.
"What is wrong Kalo?" I asked wiping my eyes
"I can't sleep, can I lay down with you?" I nodded moving over and Makalo climbed in "Can you tell me about the death totem?" I snapped my eyes open turning to face my 5'9, 14 year old, brother.
"Why do you want to know of such evil Makalo?" I asked him he shrugged I sighed "The death totem was once a stone, it was apart of the 6 stones of Zoya along with the totem of Fire, animals, air, water, and earth," I started explaining "Each stone went to a family who were named the protectors of the village. The firstborn got the Firestone, the second the stone of animals so on so forth. The youngest was gifted with the stone of death. The youngest was a girl named Asha, Asha was wicked, she did anything that would cause harm to her family and when she was given the stone she got the one thing she wanted," I paused Makalo looked up at me
"What was that?"
"Power," I spoke with a sharp tone in my voice "But with the stone of death she could create death but she could also stop it," I explained "So with the stone, she took the power and started to cause chaos. Her siblings knew they couldn't let her destroy everything that was good so they banded together to fight against her together they took the stone from her and put her down for good. The stone was never given to another person for fear that the next wielder would be as wicked as Asha. Slowly after the fight with Asha though the siblings died one by one till one was left, the wielder of fire who collected the stones and passed the stones after their death and gave them to his children who passed them down through the family," I told him
"But mama and papa aren't related and mama was the wielder of the totem of animals," I nodded
"Yes but mother and father were together for 10 years before they actually had children and someone needed to wield the stone to help father," I explained but sighed "Now we need to sleep my dearest little brother," I said kissing his forehead, he laid his head in my chest and soon fell asleep. I stared up at the ceiling as I waited for sleep to take me.
AUTHORS NOTE
So that is the story of the death totem, I got the idea from DC but I have made some large changes to the way the totems are obtained and the story of them.
