I laid on the ground my ears ringing loudly, I could hear the screaming and yelling of the people around me. As well as the gunfire. I couldn't move though, my whole body was numb, my ear rung and I stared straight up at the blurry ceiling. The gunfire seized quickly and I could hear the labored breathes of someone beside me, their breathing is what brought me out of my daze. I rolled onto my side to see Ross with blood pouring from a wound on his back. "Ross, can you hear me?" He looked up at me but continued breathing in slowly. I looked around "You come here," I yelled out to the women standing watching me. "Stabilize his head, he's loosing to much blood," I said she knelt down to our level holding his neck straight. T'Challa came back in.

"What happened?"

"I think he used his body to shield me after the explosion. He was shot in the back it probably hit his spine," I looked up at him "He won't make it here," I told him he looked at the wound

"Give me a Kimoyo bead," he said looking at Nakia who took one from her bracelet he pushed it into the wound "This will stabilize him for now," His pained grunting and deep breathing evened out and he breathed out before his eyes shut. "Give him to us, we can save him," he says looking at the blonde women I called over. The women agreed and we moved him to the plane where I monitored him. "Ayana?" I looked over at T'Challa "Are you okay?" I shrugged "When we get home, have someone look at your ears," He said after he moved my head to the side seeing the trail of dried blood.

The guilt settled in my stomach as I stared at him

The guilt settled in my stomach as I stared at him. "Our mission was to bring back Klaue. We failed," Okoye said though most of what she said didn't register to me. "This man is a foreign intelligence operative, how do we justify bringing him into our borders," I stared at the women in disbelief.

"He took a bullet for one of our own," Nakia said briefly looking at me.

"That was his choice," She defended her point. I looked back at the man who had saved my life

"So now we are just supposed to let him die?" Nakia asked

"Let us consider that we heal him. It is his duty to report back to his country. And as king, it is your duty to protect ours," I looked at her before T'Challa could reply I turned on my heel and walked away to sit down, putting my knees to my chest as I frowned deeply in thought. There talking was muffled from this distance. I stayed there until we landed. I followed as we brought him back to the lab. I saw Shuri smile excitedly

"Great, another broken white boy for us to fix," She said as she moved the sheet that covered his face "This is going to fun," she says I watched T'Challa walk to Alana who gripped a knife tightly in her hands as she glared at him. She glared up at T'Challa before leaving. I saw Shuri prepping everything to start working on Ross. I sat down in a chair watching her work intense silence. "He will live," that allowed me to release a shaky breath looking up at T'Challa who let out a short breath. Shuri's beads buzzed "W'Kabi is here," she says and T'Challa nodded at me leaving me before returning. He looked worried but kissed me on the head and told me everything would be okay and he would be back soon leaving me with Shuri and Ross.
