“Jaz,” I said, standing in front of him as Emmett and Carlisle restrained him. “Shhh, Jaz.” I started up some wind in the house and pushed it toward Bella, carrying her scent away from us.

“Let’s go for a walk,” Emmett said, dragging Jasper out of the house. I followed behind them, trying to hold my breath. Rosalie followed us without a word, and Alice apologized before leaving with us. Esme followed us out of the house then too.

“Jazzy,” I whispered softly. Emmett was still holding his arms, and I could tell that Major had managed to come out, but Jasper was fighting him.

His eyes went amber for a second as he spoke, “I can’t believe I lost control. Edward won’t ever forgive me,” he muttered. Then, his eyes became black just as quickly as they had gone amber.

“Jazzy,” I muttered. I stepped closer to him and placed my hands on his cheeks. “Shh, it’s okay. She isn’t hurt.”

“Yes, she is,” Edward said. “But it isn’t your fault Jasper.”

“Had I not snapped, you wouldn’t have had to throw her,” Jasper whispered. Emmett looked at me to see if he could let Jasper go. I looked into Jasper’s eyes and saw they were amber, so I nodded quickly and Emmett let Jasper go. I instantly grabbed one of his hands in both of mine so at least one of us had a hold of him.

“I shouldn’t have thrown her. I knew this was going to happen,” Edward said. The two talked for a few minutes before Carlisle came outside and got Edward and me. I had to go help him burn stuff. Edward had to take Bella home. I flicked my wrist towards the ceramic dish that contained the alcohol soaked rags and they burst into flames.

“I don’t know what happened,” I spoke quietly to Carlisle.

“It’s not your fault, Viv,” Carlisle spoke calmly.

“If I had just stayed inside,” I said.

“Do not feel bad because your brother was being childish,” he said. “Edward spoke many times that he did not want you at this party, and he knew the one way to get rid of you would be to call you immature.”

“I know, I can’t help feeling like it’s my fault,” I said, feeling a wave of calm go through me. Jasper must be nearby.

“I promise you that this is on Edward and not you Vivian,” he said. I nodded before hugging him and heading off to find Jasper.

“There’s my beautiful girl,” Jasper said. I sat down on the arm of the chair he was sitting in and gave him a small smile as Carlisle joined us. Edward was pacing around the living room now that he’s back from Bella’s.

“We’ve gotta leave,” Edward said.

“Like town?” I asked.

He nodded. “It’s the only way to keep Bella safe.”

“I’m gonna miss this place,” Emmett said.

“We’ll come back. We always do,” Carlisle said. “I’ll call the school tomorrow and deal with those of you still in school.”

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“Back to Alaska for a while. I'll call Irena before we leave,” Carlisle said.

"Let's go pack," I said to Jasper softly. He nodded, taking my hand to lead me upstairs.

"We don't have to go with them, babydoll," Jasper said as we entered our room.

"Yes, we do, and if it means taking a break from our lifestyle, then we take a break," I said. "I'm not losing the only family that's ever cared for me."
