Chapter 3
Mrs. Levi’s Favor
Patrick Wale POV
I woke up early in the morning to do my early morning run but today is different. I jogged in the park where I first seen that mysterious girl. Tried to find her, I want to see here again.
It’s been a long week had passed by since I saw her. And until now I can’t get her out of my mind. She’s like a beautiful nightmare that wakes me up in the night. I wished I could meet her again. I tried looked for her but maybe the bad karma is already haunting me. I’ve never seen her since that day. Where was she anyway?
----------------
The bell rang and the students start packing their things to leave the class when Mrs. Levi called my name. “Mr. Wale can you please stay for a minute I need to talk to you.”
“Why sure Mrs. Levi.” As I came forward.
“Mr. Wale I would like to ask a favor from you, if it’s okay?” She said as she looked into my eyes with a hint begging.
“It depends to what kind of help it is Mrs. Levi. As long as I can then I’ll accept it.”
“Great! I have seen that you are friendly and easy to befriend with.” she complimented me.“Would you help me with my daughter’s problem? She’s not socializing with other people. I’m starting to worry about her. I want to see her happy as long as I can be with her side.” As she said those words, tears started to build up in the corner of her eyes.
“I’ll try Mrs. Levi.” Honestly, I don’t want to make promises to her. I’m quite busy at school academics, activities, football club and most important I’m still stuck on that mysterious woman from the park.
-----------------
I’m almost gave up on looking for that girl. My mysterious girl.... until now.... I’m sitting in a cozy living room with a shock expression in my face. The girl in front of me mirrored my expression too.
“Hi, we meet again.” I awkwardly greeted her.
“So you are the weird guy?” she asked. Ahh! Her voice sound angelic in my ears. Wait, What is happening to me? Everything about her is too good for me. Maybe she’s right I’m getting weird. Patrick you need to pull this off; c’mon don’t be weird. “Mom! Why are you hanging out with this weird highschool student?” what she said woke me up from my mini-conversation with myself. Mrs. Levi came out from the kitchen with a Pitcher of orange juice and chocolate cookies.
“Oh honey, He is one of my students. And he is not weird. I asked him a favor that’s way he’s here. Why don’t you both introduce yourselves and be friendly to each other?” she said while placing the sweet goods on the coffee table.
“Yes, Patrick Xavier Wale! Uhhhm, that’s my name. Nice meeting you again.” I smiled and offered my hand to shake with her. My hands were itching to touch hers.
“Wow full name, Is this an interview?”she mockingly asked.
“Monica don’t be rude! Sorry for that Patrick.” she glared at her and looked at me with an apologetic face.
“It’s Fine Mrs. Levi.” I smiled. “So I assumed your name is Monica. I like it.” I threw a seductive smile at her. My signature smile that makes a lot of girls crawling to my feet.
“Yup, my name is Monica. And please stop showing your glowing teeth on me as if your trying to impress a judge on the best smiling contest. You can’t make me fall for your traps Mr. Wale the great playboy.” she’s mockingly smiled at me with an intense look in her alluring eyes. Oh it’s been a long time since I have seen those eyes. I missed them.
“what makes you think I’m a playboy? Are you one of my stalkers?” I playfully joked with her. She accidentally spilled her juice that she’s been drinking.
“Excuse me, Me? Your Stalker? “ She coughed. “Wow... Simply wow... For the first time in my life, I’m speechless.” she continued while she shook her head with a disbelieving face. “Look, first of all I don’t know you. Honestly aside of that creepy time I had with you at the park this is the very first time I met you.” Woah! “Creepy time” really? That was one of the most memorable day happened in my life. “Second, I’ve known you being a playboy coz the way your action shows.” My actions? What’s with my actions?
“What do you mean by my action?” I asked.
“Your A****** actions. Thinking that every girl will see rainbows, unicorns and fairy dust when you encounter them and would fall in love at you within 5 seconds.” she explained. So she’s complaining with my ways of flirting with girls.
“I’m not flirting I’m just being nice. And what’s wrong with flirting with the people you like?” I asked as she blush after she heard my question.
“I don’t know.” shyly answered my question. “By the way, what is the favor my mom asked on you?” she curiously asked.
“I’m here to be your friend. But I guess I should not be your friend. I should be your best friend or more than friends.” I cheekily said. She was speechless again and her jaw-dropped and stared at me for a longest time since we met. I smirk at her. Oh, I love teasing her more. Her reaction is so priceless.
