Chapter 14

Realization

Mr. Dirk POV

“Annie, clean this area, there’s still a lot of dust in this part.” As I commanded the new hired maid. I heard a loud bang in the front door and saw Mr. Patrick entered the house looking like hell. I thought he went to see Ms. Levi, what happen?

He grabbed a glass of scotch at the alcohol cabinet and drunk it all in one gulp. Oh, did something bad happened to him. I walked closer to him and asked, “You didn’t meet Ms. Levi, sir?” He glared at me like a lion who’s ready to grab my neck and twist it. “As I look at it sir there’s something bad happened.” He deepen his breathe.

“I got mad at her without a reason.” he said with a low voice and rubbed the back of his neck.

“No reason? Is that normal sir? I think there’s always a reason for everything sir.” I reasoned out and tried to fish some good answers from him.

“Is it normal to get mad if you see your friend talk happily with another guy? Like she never thought I’m with her.” He’s hands grip much harder in the glass in front of him.

“If you asked me sir I would say you’re Jealous.” I casually answered him and gestured Annie to go somewhere so she won’t hear what we’re talking.

“Jealous? That word is out of my vocabulary. I’ve never been jealous. You know that Dirk.” He denyingly said.

“Maybe because this is your first time falling in love sir.” I known him since he was a little boy and this is the first time I’ve seen him like this. He just keeps denying it not just to other people but even to himself.

“How would you say that? Have you fallen in love?” He questioned.

“Love can change a person in a blink of an eye, It can bring out the best and worst of a person, sir. And yes sir, I fell in love and that’s the best thing that happened in my life.” I answered him with proudly. He kept quiet and sipped in his drink. “As you said sir you’re mad seeing her happy with a man excluding you -” He suddenly spoke.

“How would you know if it’s jealousy or just obsession?” He asked me with sincereness in his eyes.

I paused and recalled the feelings I felt when I fell in loved, “Have you felt that you’re dying not seeing her or being with her makes you feel like you’re in a different world that no one can enter, just two of you?” He just nodded and I continued. “Seeing her being happy because of you makes you feel happier and hurting her is the thing you don’t want to happen. Is that what you feel sir?” He amazingly looked at me, like I hit the right button in his head. “Love is giving along with being selfish, giving everything you have even your life for the person you love. And selfishness, for wanting to be the only person in her heart. Love has a lot of definition sir. As long as you fell in love everything has a definition.”

“I’ve always been the kind of person who likes to receive but doesn’t want something to give in return, until I’ve met her. I always consider everything as my possession. And I don’t want her to be a part of it.” He admittedly said.

“That’s the how you fell in love, sir. You want her to be your own and giving yourself to her, while also giving your satisfaction. And that’s the greatest rule of love sir.” He smiled at last, thinking what I have just said to him. He looked at me like he had found the missing piece of the puzzle inside his brain.

“I’ve never thought that I could truly loved someone more than myself. And risk my own emotions for that person, even I know I could get hurt. Now, I’ve realized how magical it is to fall in love. She’s amazing, she’s my magic.” He happily realized the feeling he felt right now. Like he freed himself from the cage he had made for himself. I’m happy to see him like this, I hope this would last forever because he deserves it.

“But how would I know she’ll return my love for her?” I snapped on my own thought because of his sudden question.

“Try to ask her sir, make her knew what you felt for her. She deserves to know it. And you deserve to know her answer, sir. Would you like me to arrange something special for the both of you, sir?” I politely asked him.

“It’s okay Dirk I can arrange that on my own. Thanks, for making me realized this feeling of mine. And by the way, I’ve known who’s that woman your talking about.” He teasingly said while he walked away going to his room.

“You’re already growing up sir. I’ve been waiting this moment to see you being like this. I’m sincerely happy for you sir.” I said.

He waved at me and said, “That’s because of you Dirk. You raised me like you’re own son, I thank you for that.”

This part of his life would be the start of greatest moment that will happen to him. I hope that whatever happened, for better or for worst it will makes him stronger and happier.
