I walked around my empty apartment alone trying to find my shirt that Ryan left. I found it under the bed. I went down stairs, and watched Revenge on Netflix. I thought about how I treated Ryan. I know it was harsh, but I was scared. He wanted to start back up like nothing happened, but everything happened. And to be honest I'm scared of love. I'm scared that one day when the love dies I will too.
I sat on the sofa, and just thought about every thing. I'm alone on my birthday. I heard a knock at the door, and I went to get it. I opened it up to see Ryan.
"I'm sorry," Ryan said right away.
I walked away, but left the door open for Ryan. "My gift is my song," He started to sing.
I felt something go though my body. A tingling sensation ran though me, and I couldn't move. My breath got heavier with every second.
"And this one's for you,"
I turned around.
"And you can tell everybody this is your song," He walked to me. "It may be quite simple, but now that it's done," Ryan grabbed my hands. "I hope you don't mind. I hope you don't mind...That I put down in words. How wonderful life is...Now you're in the world," He smiled at me. He began again, "So excuse me forgetting but these things I do," Ryan put his hand on my cheek, and looked in my eyes. "See I'd forgotten if they're green or they're blue," Ryan sung louder, and dragged me to almost dancing with him. "Yeah well the thing is, what I really mean, your are the sweetest eyes that I've ever seen!"
I laughed and Ryan and I started dancing around the room.
"Well you can tell everybody this is your song. It may be quite simple but now that it's done," Ryan paused to look at me twirling to him. "I hope you don't mind. I hope you don't mind that I put down in words," I collided with him, and he just looked in my eyes. "How wonderful life is. Now you're in the world," He sung softly.
It made chills go down my spine. I haven't felt like this in a while. I never want it to go away. I never want to stop looking at Ryan's eyes. He was so captivating. Ryan had that way about him.
"E-emm," I heard from the open door.
I looked to see my dad. The memories of him and my mom came back to me like a storm. My smile was instantly gone. "Hi dad," I managed to say.
"Let's get some brunch," My dad said.
"Okay," I grabbed some leggings and put them on, and grabbed my bag.
"Ryan can come too if he wants,"
"No. I don't want to be a burden," He said.
"Please? For me?" I asked him. I didn't want to do this alone. I couldn't do it.
"Okay," Ryan grabbed the back of my head, and kissed me on my forehead.
"I um. I need to show you a surprise before we go though," My dad had a sly smile placed on his face.
"What?" I asked.
We got out, and I saw Fleetwood Mac by my car. My eyes grew wide, my mouth dropped, and I wanted to cry. I felt like I couldn't breathe.
"Hi, Sara," Stevie Nicks said to me.
My mouth moved up and down trying to get 'hi' out of my mouth. "Hi," I finally said.
"I hope you don't mind. Your dad said that it's your birthday today," Lindsey Buckingham spoke.
I smiled. This was the best birthday ever. "Yes. It is,"
"Well. We have a brunch set up, and an exclusive acoustic show just for you," Christine said.
I felt like waving my arms all over the place. I have to contain myself though. I took a deep breath to slow down my heart, because it was beating so fast. This was the best birthday. And I know that my mom would want me to enjoy it.
They set up the stage, and I helped them. "You're so sweet," Christine commented.
"She's Ken's daughter. I would expect nothing less than perfect," Lindsey winked.
I smiled, and continued to help. I was done, and they did my favorite "Go Your Own Way". I was smiling from ear to ear. It was perfect. Ryan held my hand, and smiled at me. He leaned over as they stopped the song and whispered, "Come what may," It made me smile. I knew that whatever happens, I want him to be next to me.
