The next day, Patrick didn't go to school as he said yesterday. I didn't mind at all, before Pat even come to my life I was always alone in school, and I didn't mind at all, there's not many relevant people around me though, why would I even bother to talk to them anyway? But things changed since Patrick came into my life, his popularity made me recognizable.
I was about to go to the cafeteria for lunch all by myself but I could feel someone was following me when I turned around, it was Luke, "Why are you following me you creep?!" I asked him as I keep on walking.
"Oh I was about to go to the cafeteria too, wanna come with me?" He asked paced up his walking speed so he was walking next to me. Since I have no friend today, then why not. I slowed down my pace until it was 2 steps behind him because I didn't want to be insulted anymore. We finally sit on a table, just the two of us.
"So Lucas, I am not used to sitting with people who doesn't even have any manner and dressed up like homeless with that ripped skinny jeans and band t-shirt and that piercing on your lips," I told him. I started to open my sandwich wrapper.
"Stop calling me Lucas! I don't want to sit with you either, I'm not used to sitting next to a girl who dressed up like she lives in the 90s." He opened a bag of chips. And started to eat them carefully as I watched him closer, I honestly found him attractive with that blond hair and the lip ring hanging on his lower lip, his super tall figure, he's more than 6 ft with his quiff I guess, except he doesn't even have a good attitude.
"How come you don't know me Hazel? " He said after a while, raised his eyebrow being cocky about how he noticed me whilst I had been careless about him before yesterday.
"Oh if you like to be so sarcastic alright then." I glared at him as I pushed my lunch tray away from me through his way.
"Why would we compete on being sarcastic? I already win." He finally got up after he finished his chips. "See you later, Hazel." He said as he walked away.
"Listen here, Lucas Hemmings. I don't have time for people like you." I started to get pissed of how Luke annoys me.
So after such an unpleasant lunch, I walked up to my locker and grab my English book, because unfortunately I have an English class for the last period. When I closed my locker, I noticed that Luke's locker was 3 lockers away from mine, but I didn't care about that Hemmings lad as long as I have Patrick, who hasn't even text me since this morning by the way. So I went to the English class and have a seat far away from Luke; but unexpectedly he moved to the seat behind me. I was trying to focus on the lesson, someone texted me. I wish it was from Pat.
"Meet me at the cafe. –L" It's not. Yeah, it's Luke.
"How do you even get my number? And I don't want to, Lucas! –H "
"My name is NOT Lucas. I always had your number since you wrote that on my middle school's yearbook. Fine, are you free tonight Haz? –L "
"DON'T call me Haz. I must be so stupid back then. And no. –Hazel not Haz"
It was clearly the most messed up English class I have ever had. I had to go to the football field where Patrick played football, my choices to wait for him is only the field's bleachers and that cafe; there's no way I'm waiting on the bleachers like I used to. One time I've waited there and the ball hit me on the head and left a bruise and so much pain in my head, fortunately I didn't get fainted. I didn't want that to happen to me again so, I started to go to that cafe near the football field while I was waiting for Patrick every time he told me to. But that was the first time I've seen Luke in that cafe.
