I woke up in the morning and found Luke staring at me. “Good Morning Hazel, you’re 15 minutes late. Go get ready and I’ll drive you downtown,” He smells so good, I’m pretty sure he had showered already. “What? Go away Luke Hemmings! I don’t want you to see me in my bed head.” I pulled the blanket up my head. “No, you’re always beautiful even in your curly messy bed head. Go get up!” His fingers started to thrilled on my stomach trying to tickle me, which is my ultimate weakness. “No, Luke. Stop, I’ll be ready in 15 minutes, I swear.” I laughed despite how sleepy I was. “10, we don’t have much time before your Dad wake up,” He helped me get up and I walked into the shower and get dressed. We tiptoed downstairs, then I turned on the stereo  so my dad won’t hear the car engine starting. After I make sure everything’s okay I get in to Luke’s car; rides shot gun and he drive away to the building where my mum works.

“Okay here we are. I’m gonna talk to her and everything’s going to be okay. Wish me luck,” I said as we got out of his car. We walked in to the receptionists’ desk in the building and asked to meet my Mrs. Stephanie Singleton but she said that she hasn’t arrived yet, so we have to wait in the visitor room inside the building using the stupid visitor name tags. “Luke, I’m sorry to get you involved in this kind of private situation.”

“It’s okay, Hazel.” He smiled at me; his dimple showed and I could feel myself blushed. I smiled back at him nervously.

About 30 minutes later a well-dressed lady with red hair and stilettos came towards us, she said that she’s Mrs. Singleton’s assistant. “I’m her daughter, Hazel Singleton.” I told her when she asked why we wanted to see her. “Oh, she never mentioned that she has a family, I thought she’s a single lady who’s very, you know, obsessed about her career.” She chuckled. “And this is your boyfriend I supposed?”

“No, he is my best friend. A very best friend,” I looked up and smiled at him as we walked to my mum’s office.

“I’m her best friend. She’s not my friend,” Luke said with no hesitation. We stopped in a room with a giant glass door where a very beautiful lady with a dark wavy hair which looks like mine sit on her desk. She’s wearing a white shirt with a lot of necklaces hanging from his neck, a mini skirt and a white stilettos. It’s my Mum! I pulled down Luke’s shoulder and he lower his head, so I could whisper in his ears because he is clearly too tall for such a short girl like me, “It’s her! Wow she’s even more beautiful then I remember,”

Her assistant walk into her room and said a few things to her, I could barely heard them arguing there. I held Luke’s hand, because I was so scared, I knew from that moment something bad is gonna happen. A few minutes later, her assistance came out and said, “She said that she doesn’t have a daughter and she doesn’t want to meet you two guys, I’m sorry.” I don’t even care about what he was saying, I made my way through her office’s door and get myself in.

“What are you doing here?" Her eyes widened in shock. "Get out, Hazel.” She sounded so mad.

“But mom, I miss you. Daddy misses you, I was wondering if you can go back to our family and…” I walked towards her.

“There’s no way that I would get back to that house ever again.” She sounded so shaky.

“Why mum? I wanna know why? Tell me.” Took a step closer.

“If you took one more step, I will call the security. Go away Hazel, I’m deadly serious!” She said; I can tell that she’s going to cry sooner or later by her super shaky voice.

I turned around with tears falling down from my eyes, I grabbed Luke hands and hurried into the elevator. Dad was right, she doesn’t want to go back to our family, and she doesn’t even want me anymore. I can feel my mascara had messed up when I rushed back to Luke’s car; my chest hurts. I stood there in front of Luke’s car doorway, I could feel the rain drops hits my opened skin.
