“Hazel, how are you baby? I’m sorry I didn’t had the chance to call you since last night, I was very busy, this is very important to me and I’m so honored to be part of this football camp,” Patrick called me during lunch.

“I’m good, I did well in my calculus exam on the first period of school I guess. If I get an A, I won’t be grounded anymore next week so we could hang out together and just have fun.” I said to him.

“Of course, of course! Look Hazel, I got to go now. Talk to you later,” He hung up.

I ate in silence with Luke, just the two of us. Because he said he doesn’t want to seat with another stupid people in school besides me, but I guess he doesn’t even consider me as stupid anymore, because basically he is my tutor. I couldn’t wait to go to his house after school, so I could finally get out of my house since Friday. Luke is a pretty great excuse, he is kind of my gateway at this moment.

“By the way, I quit my job at the café. We can just go straight to my house after school. No more job for me.” He bit his lip ring and stared blankly at the table.

“You know Luke, you don’t need to do that. I’m sorry I insisted you yesterday, I was so depressed. Because it’s the first time I got grounded. I’m not usually like this.” I couldn’t just make him do that for me, he probably needs the money for his living or something like that. Now I feel awful for insisting him yesterday.

“No, it’s okay, Hazel. I hate my boss, though. Meet me in the parking lot after school,” He awkwardly stood up and left me there alone. I watched him as he walked away, but unfortunately he looked back and caught me staring at him then he chuckled. It wasn’t funny, at all.

I went to the parking lot after school and found Luke there leaned on an SUV, as soon as he noticed me, he opened the door for me. “SUV?” I asked him doubtfully because he doesn’t look like a kind of guy who drives SUV to school, I expect him to drive a fancy city car. “Yes, use your seatbelt.” He fixed his beanie and started to drive. I couldn’t stop staring at him, he looks so cool with his beanie on, covered up his hair except for the front part where his quiff could come out of that wool head cover; he wears his black converse and his ripped skinny jeans; his lips were pressed, I could see his dimple appeared; his body looks so perfect covered up by his band t-shirt. I know I couldn’t stop staring at him, he is so beautiful. I know guys aren’t supposed to be beautiful, but he is.

A few moments after we were far enough from school he almost hit the red light, and he suddenly stepped on the brake. “What do you think you’re doing?! Are you trying to kill us Luke?!” I kinda yelled at him as I caught my breath. I, or we, could almost got killed a few seconds ago if he didn’t step on the brake. “No, YOU were trying to kill us!” He answered, his eyes were still focus on the street as he scowled. “I didn’t do anyth…”

“Would you please take your eyes off of me? You made me nervous.” He cut me off in such a serious tone; not bothering to take his eyes off the street. “Sorry, Luke.” I could feel the heat went up to my cheek as I blushed; this wasn’t a right time to feel this way. We drove passed my house, his house is only 4 blocks away from my house. Now I understand why he never accept my offers to drive him home.

“Wow Luke, you never mention that you’re actually rich.” I said as I got out of the car. His house is huge, so does his front yard.

“I’m not, my parents are.” He slammed the door close. “My mum’s probably still at her office,”
