PERSONA Chapter 7
- CLANDESTINE INCORPORATED - TUESDAY - 11:00 A.M. -
When the car stopped, Eve moved her dark obsidian eyes to the massive gate located in front of her. It's a 20 feet tall wide gate. The color is black and there was not even a single hole to be seen in it. Aside from the small rectangular shaped door at the side, there was a signage at the middle and top most part of the gate - capital letter 'CI', an abbreviation for Clandestine Incorporated. If it was not because of that, one would probably think that this was a very shady place.
Her figure that was perfect together with a height that was higher than the average population of women's was standing tall in proud and yet in front of this huge gate, she looked like an ant standing in front of a human.
Just looking at the gloomy looking gate, Eve felt herself shiver. This is one of the reasons why she did not want to enter this place again. It seriously felt like she was entering a prison or something. The unbelievably creepy atmosphere of the place literally screamed 'once you're inside, there's no turning back'. She really admired herself for being able to come back here again. She has already thought of it well but now, she's very sure- she's a masochist!
"Eve, are you ready?" Eve did not answer right away. She was nervous and still confused. She's a hundred percent sure that all her choices in life were not in the right lane. She is wholeheartedly hoping that the choice she is making right now will lead her to her happiness, and not suff- wait, she's already suffering. Goodness gracious, what more could she possibly ask for?
She sure is nervous but of course, she's not scared. If there is one thing in this world that does not suit Eve - its being afraid of something.
She's nervous - anxious even, but she knew there was nothing she could possibly do anymore. She knew that sooner or later, Cashmiere was going to take her back. After all, her time was running out - she has to come back.
She used her long and slender fingers to comb her black long curly locks of hair out of her face caused by the wind and then took a deep breath. Her eyes that seemed to fill with dark clouds had now began to clear; showing a very grand view: as if it were the galaxy.
After composing herself - no, after daydreaming, Eve then looked at Cashmiere and snickered sarcastically "Of course not. After all, you just brought me back just to attend this elite training school in the start of their school year" and added with a tinge of seriousness in her young voice, "I'm not a genius, Cash. How can possibly catch up to everything that they have learned for the past years?"
Cash laughed. "You are a genius, dummy. Get out and enter the school already. I still have some concerns to handle at the Headquarters. Oh and don't worry. There are signs around the school so I'm sure you won't get lost given your awful sense of direction"
"..........." Eve was dumbfounded but when she finally realized what Cash just said, she blushed and gritted her teeth.
"Given my awful sense of direction, you say?" This annoying old woman! Just because she was laughing and all, did not mean that she was happy and forgiving okay!? Who was she, Zoro?!
Seeing her obviously triggered self, Cashmiere immediately laughed and said "Well, its true. With an IQ that surpasses even the smartest of the government officials, your memory sure can't be matched by anyone. But why is it that you make mistakes on choosing directions and always ended up getting lost?"
Eve calmed herself down and said ".....I don't know what you're talking about," causing Cashmiere to guffaw, obviously amused to death by the former
"If you really don't know, then that's really a big problem. Don't worry, I assigned a student to guide you through the campus so that you won't get lost" she added
Eve thought: 'Given my awful sense of direction, she said. I can't move on from this! Am I really such a klutz? Why have I not learned about this before?'
"And right, I almost forgot, Eve. Please do make sure you won't get into trouble as soon as you enter the gates. You are very reckless and fearless and to top it off, you're also kind of mean. You seriously have fix that. It's okay if its me, Page and the usual guys from before but the students here are either elites or daughter and sons of from the Imperial Capital, so be sure to act befittingly, okay?" Eve rolled her eyes and made faces hearing the nonsensical reminder and went on to open the car and finally went out while holding her suitcase
"Ah. And Eve, one more thing" Cashmiere called out so Ever turned to look at her
When Cashmiere looked at her more seriously, Eve finally breathed out a sigh, adjusted her state and returned the former's gaze.
"About your first mission," Eve almost wanted to say "I knew it!" but she tried her best to endure and did not show even a slightest reaction on her face.
"Be sure to see me in my office by midnight. Don't be seen," Eve nodded and said nonchalantly, "Got it"
It did not take too long for Cashmiere to say her farewell and headed to the Aegis Force Headquarters. Eve's eyes followed the car ever since it started to move and eventually went out of her sight.
Her thoughts while watching the car was unknown, and her figure - small yet proud, looked extremely lonely from a distant away.
After a few seconds, she eventually turned around and peered at the huge gate.
This was a forest that is actually beyond to which people normally use to travel and have fun. Normal people did not know that a school - where strange things occur, where powerful people live in - was actually sitting right here in this very gloomy looking forest for centuries.
As if she had thought of something crazy, she looked at figure and thought that she can do it! She can still run away!
