PERSONA Chapter 3
- VILLAGE OF DAFFODILS - MONDAY - 5:00-9:00 P.M. -
It did not take too long for the villagers to come out and give out their concerns to the young girl.
"Eve, it's dangerous here!"
"Yes, yes. He said he'll remember you!"
"You should hurry and run away, kid!"
"R-right! We've got ourselves, Eve"
"You taught us about the traps and defense skills already"
Looking at the faces of the people in the village, Eve took a deep breath and then hid the pistol she took from one of the hoodlums earlier.
"'That's what I have in mind too. But me aside, I'm worried about the villagers" she replied as she smiled faintly causing the villagers to cry as they were really helpless
"Eve, young child" Andres said as he slowly made his way to where Eve was using his cane so she ran quickly so he wouldn't have to struggle to walk anymore
This village is the village of Daffodils, a small yet prospering village. Like other villages across the capital, villagers with strong physique and bodies were found missing and because of that, bandits - like those hoodlums who targeted the village, came for them as the only ones left in the villages were the old, young and women. They were helpless.
Village Head Andres is the oldest of them all. With his rough eyebrows, sharp eyes and seriousness in his face, you wouldn't think that he's already in his late 80's and is still the wisest man in the village. He is known as the head of the Village of Daffodils.
"We don't have strong people here so no one is there to defend us. So when you stay here, we feel at ease. But you have to leave, our conscience will not be able to handle it if something happens to you just because of us" the old man said causing Eve to calmly show a reassuring smile as a response
"I understand, Andrew"
When the old man extended his right hand, Eve grabbed it immediately. Feeling the old man's wrinkly and dry hands, Eve had the urge to say that she doesn't want to leave but she just swallowed and kept it all inside.
"If ever the time comes, I hope that we would be able of service to you, dear" he said causing Eve to smile sincerely and immediately shook her head and said "You can repay me by taking good care of yourselves, gramps. Thank you so much for welcoming me here. I'll go to the Aegis Force Headquarters to ask for assistance, so that I'll be at ease"
"Thank you so much. We will never forget your kindness, Eve"
After that, they cooked a simple dinner and ate together and it wasn't long before they entered their homes. Standing before the largest tree in the middle of the village, Eve took a deep breath and entered her little house. When she came in, she immediately took a shower, prepared her things and went to bed to rest for a bit.
She stared at the ceiling for a about half an hour and thought that she'll leave when they are all asleep. Probably by 11 o'clock.
"Damn. Where should I go now? It's only been three weeks since I started living here" her naturally well defined eyebrows furrowed as she whispered "What is the Aegis Force doing? Aren't they the defenders of justice or whatnot? What now? They're just a worthless bunch of goody two shoes"
"Oh. Are you sure you can say that?"
Eve immediately sat down hearing someone and glanced at the sound's direction.
"How did you get in here?"
An all-black wearing woman. Wearing fitted jeans and a plain shirt paired with a cape that reached her knees and heeled boots, the woman with beauty enough to charm both men and women at the same time, was playing with my gun – which she probably found just around the corner of my bookshelf.
She has the appearance that screams confidence, bravery, intelligence, elegance and ARROGANCE all at the same time.
It was actually Cashmiere.
I sighed. She found me.
Casually sitting on Eve's chair was actually Cashmiere - the current Headmistress of Clandestine Inc. In her mid 20s, already leading a huge institution, Cashmiere is known as the most talented agent of the Aegis Force. Aside from being talented, she was also very beautiful. If Eve's beauty was ethereal, then Cashmiere's subtle yet strong.
But if you would just take good observation, you would notice that they actually have similarities - especially their eye colors. But that explanation.. is for the latter part of the story.
"How, you ask? What a nonsensical question. Did you perhaps forgot that I'm number one when it comes to trespassing?" hearing this, Eve sneered and smugly said, "You mean you learned it from me, right?" as she flipped her hair causing the headmistress to chuckle
When Cashmiere threw a box to Eve, the latter caught it easily. Seeing the 'CLANDESTINE INC' logo on the box, she raised a brow and immediately opened the box. She froze when she saw an admission letter and a trainee's uniform for ladies and looked at the former.
"Wait, 'don't say—"
"Since the Northen Village of Daffodils wanted you to leave and you were already planning on your next course of action, there's no need to fret. You can just come with me. Instead of wandering around, going from village to village, it would be for the best if you stayed at Clandestine so I can watch over you properly"

After thinking about it for about half a minute, Eve immediately withdrew her graze and asked, "Are you sure you're letting me in there?" causing Cashmiere to roll her eyes, "Hmm? What's the issue if I bring you back there? I practically own Clandestine"
Eve furrowed her brows as she said, "But I'm..." but Cashmiere already stood up and walked towards the door saying, "Wear the uniform and pack your most valuable things. I don't want to hear any more excuses" but later then paused in her steps when she noticed that Eve had no intention of moving and took a deep breath
"You don't have a choice, Eve. Get ready. I'll be waiting for you outside the village" she added and went out
Eve sat back down and immediately took out the Clandestine Inc trainee uniform for women and stared at it for a very long time as she thought: 'Sht. I'm going back there again?'
