PERSONA Chapter 4
- VILLAGE OF DAFFODILS - MONDAY - 9:00 P.M. -
- Outside the village -
"What is it?" Cashmiere asked Lucas when he called her
"Did you find her?" hearing the question, she immediately laughed and said "Hmm" and added, "She was chased out of the village. If I came by midnight, she would have already gone to another place"
"That's good then. Be careful along the way. Don't tease her too much okay?" a very rare smile appeared on the young lady's face as she answered, ""I'm not a kid anymore, Lucas"
"Well, you're still a kid to me"
"Whatever,"
"Are you going to continue flirting with each other or are we leaving?" when Cashmiere heard Eve, she immeditaely looked at her
When she saw Eve wearing the Clandestine Inc trainee uniform while carrying a suitcase, she immediately smiled and said, "I'll call you later, Lucas. Eve is jealous," and before he could answer she immediately ended the call and hid it in her pocket.
"Are you ready?"
"This is you forcing me, so there's no point whether I'm ready or not," she replied coldly causing Cashmiere's eyebrows to raise from the tsundere-ish personality of the girl and said, "You could escape, you know" earning nothing but a "Hmmp," from Eve as she got into the car and slammed the door shut
Cashmiere smiled faintly, sighed and then followed after her in the car.
"Are we going straight to the headquarters, head mistress?" the chauffeur asked as the two ladies buckled their seat belts
"Let's drop this girl in Clandestine first, uncle" Cashmiere replied, the driver nodded and began to drive
Eve took a look at the village and pursed her lips.
Tsk.
"Don't worry about those people, Eve. I've already sent agents to protect them from any danger" hearing that, Eve immediately nodded
When Eve did not speak, Cashmiere grabbed my hand and looked at her tattoo - a bloody crown and whispered, "Too bad, your persona isn't designed for combat" causing Eve to laugh and answered, "I know, right? It's a real pain in the ass"
Feeling uncomfortable, Eve pulled back her hand and changed the subject.
"Aren't you going to ask me something?"
"That's right. What happened to that village? Do bandits appear ever so often? Why didn't they just tell us? The Aegis Force has a base near here. They could have just reported and you wouldn't have to fight" Eve immediately took a deep breath and said, "Allll the strong men and women went missing. They tried to report it but they were scared. And besides, aren't you guys checking the villages every once in a while for security measures? What happened? Are you just protecting yourselves or something?" causing Cashmiere to slap her should lightly
"Ouch, whaaaat? I'm just telling the truth"
"It's not easy, Eve. After all, we're still humans. We can't control everything. We can't protect everyone either," Cashmiere replied and added, "But I'll make sure to ask the headquarters for an explanation for this. They almost got you in trouble"
Eve finally laughed and smilingly teased Cashmiere, "Finally. You don't have to act like the perfect leader to me. I hate it when you act superior. I don't like your headmistress-mode. It looks so cheap" causing Cashmiere to pause obviously dumbfounded and asked back "You think so too? Lucas said the same thing!" causing the both of them to laugh
Cashmiere. Her persona? She can see glimpses of the future. It's a terrifying persona to be honest. If you want to know what a persona is, a persona is an ability given to people like them, the chosen people, the gifted. But these gifts has limits. For example, although Cashmiere's persona is strong, it has backlashes - in other words, payments. In exchange for a glimpse, she's fine and all but when it comes to demanding for more, like in exchange for an episode from the future, she has to stay in coma for at least three days.
Why? The deity probably thought that if the chosen people turned greedy and wanted to take their personas for granted, then they'll have to pay a price in order for them to treasure it. Who knows? The world's beautiful, yes sure, but life's cruel and that's the painful truth.
In the entire Imperial Capital, only 5% over a 100 were given the opportunity to receive such a life changing gift. People with personas are given the responsibility to protect the people of the Imperial Capital. That's what most people would probably say. But that's half true. There are people with personas who are good and there are also who are bad.
There are two sides in every coin after all. Now, it depends on the individual as to where their heart lies.
Cashmiere's being calm and collected about her persona but she actually just happened to be able to control it at the age of sixteen.
So she had fifteen whole years of suffering for what all the glimpses she saw that happened in the future. It was all good and perfect if she sees good visions but what about the opposite?
The worst of all her visions is that she saw her parents die at the hands of the Underground People, which is the opposite of the Aegis Force - dark, depressed and lonely. Its a place where people with dark hearts gathered. Their livelihood? Robbery and .. well, murder maybe.
Even though Cashmiere did everything she could to change the future and protect her parents, she did nothing because her father said everything was set.
Our lives' destiny were already written in the stars and we can't change them.
When Cashmiere's mom Layla passed away five years ago, the sand in the hourglass was finished and it was time for her dad - Pisces to pass away, which was two years ago, everything was passed onto Cashmiere's little hand. At the age of twenty-two, at the time when she just graduated, she was already reigned in charge of Clandestine Incorporated.
Clandestine Incorporated is a school built by the founder of the Aegis Force of the Imperial Capital.
The Aegis Force is an important part of the Imperial Capital that receives jobs connected to stopping crimes and fighting for justice which is why they are known as the Protectors of Justice.
They are strong and skilled-combat and intelligent fighters that protects the Imperial Capital.
In short, they are a group of secret agents.
