Being with Emily felt amazing and the last thing I wanted to do was to move away from her.

There will be other times. I thought.

I disconnected from her reluctantly. The scent of blood wafted through the air, but the high I felt seemed to help me stay in control. I went to the bathroom to clean up and grabbed a small dampening it with warm water. I went out of the bathroom hesitantly hoping I'd be able to stay in control for a while. I gently cleaned her legs feeling like I was on cloud nine.

"I love you so much," I murmured so quietly I doubted she could hear it.

I noticed her eyes were closed and how relaxed she looked. A smile stretched onto her lips portraying how satisfied she was making me smile. I kissed her belly softly noticing her legs were clean again. Kissing her lips briefly I went back to the bathroom I wrung out all blood from the towel thoroughly.

Stay in control. I thought.

After finishing I went and laid down next to her. I moved closer to her and held her back against me. Sliding my left hand over her waist I took her hand while resting it just below her chin against her chest. I felt her right hand hold my wrist and I smiled.

I'm glad some things don't change. I thought happily knowing how much she loved being held this way.

"Sorry about that," I whispered kissing her head.

"That was amazing," she whispered already falling asleep.

"I love you so much, goodnight," I whispered sure she didn't even hear me.

Her steady breathing told me she was fast asleep. I nuzzled the back of her head loving her scent and loving everything about her. I closed my eyes letting my memories spring forward.

~Flashback~

I looked down at Emily bouncing around me happily. Her twelve-year-old smile portraying how happy she was to see me. She jumped into my arms and I picked her up chuckling at her enthusiasm.

"I missed you too sweetheart," I said. "Happy birthday."

She wrapped her arms around my neck. I caressed her hair softly breathing in her scent.

A few more years.

"Jake?" She asked quietly.

I set her down on the ground maintaining eye level with her.

"Yes, sweetheart?" I asked softly.

"Do The Cursed get married?" she asked.

I chuckled loving her phrasing.

"Yes, but of course its different. You see the act of imprinting is equivalent to being engaged to someone since we are giving the ability to see our soulmates, thanks to this curse. So for many of the cursed individuals mark a special type of bonding to be marriage," I said not wanting to say intercourse to her at so young.

Don't want to explain that one yet. I thought.

"So we are engaged?" she asked looking at me quizzically.

"Well no," I said sighing hoping to help her understand. "I'm not forcing you into that with me. Although I love you and I can see the older version of you, part of what makes you who you are is growing up. Learning, exploring, trying and even failing. I don't want you to grow up trapped, so when you're ready we will be. For now, however, I am just a creepy man in the forest in love with you."

She giggled pushing me softly.

"You're not creepy!" she said.

"Circumstantully I am," I said chuckling.
