His Only

Chapter Eighteen Feral

~Emily's perspective~

I saw Abigail laughing and Jake saw his chance. He moved so fast that I barely saw him lunge forward grabbing the pistol from her. She fired into his chest and I saw his face distort from pain. His eyes closed.

No. No, no, no! I thought tears streaming down my face.

"Jake!" I screamed while the tears streamed down my face.

No! Please no! I begged weakly.

But he didn't fall even when she moved away. His hand moved to grab Abigail's arm. A loud pop and she screamed trying to pull away from him. Amanda fell to the ground too scared to do anything, her eyes so wide. I looked at Jake unable to see much. His face was twisted, but that was all I could see.

Is he alive? He doesn't look the same. I thought confused.

Abigail was trying to pull away from his grasp desperately fear etched into her face, but he didn't let go.

"Silly, silly humans," he said, but his voice was different.

His voice sounded hoarse and scratchy. A shiver went up through my spine.

"Amanda!" she screamed.

He clamped her mouth shut and pulled her closer laughing at her. He bit her throat and I watched blood sliding down her body. I felt paralyzed by what I saw unable to understand what I was witnessing. She stopped struggling and he let her go soon after. She hit the ground her head looking at me, but she was no longer looking at me. Her hollow eyes stared blankly in my direction, but the terror remained etched to her skin.

 I stared at her face hyperventilating not realizing that he was next to me until he picked me up. I whimpered my eyes looking up at his face. His eyes were blood red and carried no warmth anymore. Something very chilling and cold about his eyes. Behind him, I saw Amanda's feet on the ground. He tilted his head watching me caressing my cheek with his hand.

"Emily," he whispered, but it sounded more like a taunt than soothing.

His lips twisted into a smile his normally beautiful features twisted in lust. I started to back turning to run away from him scared fear taking over me. He grabbed me wrapping his arms around me tightly. I whimpered crying feeling pain in his grip.

"Jake," I whimpered.

I felt him chuckling softly behind me breathing heavily on my cheek. I tried to scream, but he clamped one of his hand on my mouth.

"Now, now child no need for that," he whispered. "Though unfortunately, I am not the human Jake. He's sleeping, but I won't hurt him or you. Though I am not sure what he's waiting for with you. Your scent is almost unbearable and I would think your scent would drive him insane, yet you're still human. Not yet gifted by my people."

The tears slid down my cheeks freely with my entire body shaking. I felt him sniffing my neck softly a small moan escaping his throat.

"I should just change you. I could heal you so quickly. The muscles in your leg will never heal the same way. With my gift, you would be good as new. Stronger, faster, and all your senses would be heightened. Eternal life. I even let you continue to fornicate freely. You get a cut I will heal you, you won't even feel pain anymore and all you have to do is feed me blood. It really is a gift." he said softly. "Jake might appreciate me changing you, don't you think? You two were made for each other after all."

"Not many of you humans have to wait so long for their soulmate, you two would have lived miserable lives without my guidance giving him the life to meet you," he whispered softly. "I would even be able to unlock your memories."

I felt his hand letting go of my body so he could slide away exposing my neck to him. I closed my eyes feeling his hot breath on my neck.

"I never lie you know. It is a very human trait lying to people. It will be painful, but in the end its the best you'll ever feel. Just relax," he whispered softly

I could feel his lips grazing my skin and I sobbed feeling my heart pounding.

Jake. Please. I whimpered crying.
