"Alright, I'm going out. Kurt should be back soon enough. Sure you can handle being alone for a few hours?"Oliver crossed his arms as Ava hugged my legs. "Please. We're big kids now. We can handle just a little alone time."
I nod and hold my hand up to mock surrender.
"You two know the drill-""Yeah, yeah," Oliver nodded. "Don't answer the door, if it's Uncle Kurt he's got a key. If we think something is up go to your room and lock the door. Windows are already locked- we got it."
I nod. "See you two in a bit then."
I met up with Raph at an old warehouse. I stood around outside for a bit, listening to the deafening silence and looking into the dark night around me. Something could pop out at any moment. My back was open to anyone who may want to grab me and I was at a disadvantage because of the darkness. All I could hear now was my heart racing in my chest. Why did I agree to meet him here of all places?
My shoulder was suddenly grabbed and I spun around with a gasp. Green eyes teasingly looked down on my figure.
"Hey (y/n). Sorry I'm late."
I exhaled and folded my arms. "I thought you stood me up or something. Why did you wanna come out here of all places?"
Raph shrugged and smirked. "Eh, I thought we could find some fun up in this warehouse. There's a couple of Kraang trying to set up in here and they've been moving in some big tech. I just figured you'd wanna get your hands on it."
I frowned. Although I was happy at his offer, I was usually a logical thinker on things like this. "What about your brother? Wouldn't he want it? Why me? And... why are you alone when you have your brothers? This could be dangerous and I can't fight all that well."
Don't get me wrong, I pack a punch. When it comes to fighting robots, other than my own, it's hard. They were smart and not to mention they were stronger than I was. Raph told me briefly about his brothers before but he hardly ranted about them or brought them up. I never pushed him to talk about them either.
"Donnie's got enough to fool with right now, he's focused on upgrading the toaster now. I'm a lot stronger than my brothers, I can take on a few robots." He confidently spoke but there was slight irritation in his tone. I gave a small smile.
"Raph... I know you're strong enough. You could take out a whole army single handed! Just look at your muscles!" Let's just go with the route where I boost his confidence. He seemed to enjoy that and at least he wouldn't think I doubted his skill. I watched his smirk grow more and more as I continued. "I mean, c'mon, a few robots is nothing to you! But-"
I stopped for a dramatic pause. He stood straighter and tilted his head."But what?"
"You're my friend. I worry about you and I don't want you risking things as big as your safety for a few awesome robots that came from another demention and may have the best tech ever in history that I have so many possibilities to use for."
Raph chuckled and pulled out his sais when I finished. "Alright, nerd. Watch the muscles and learn."
