Hey guys! I'm sorry this took so long to create, and for yet another cliffhanger, but there will be another part up! Though this turned out short, I figured this would be too long (or boring) and didn't want it to drag out. I hope ya'll enjoy!I could hear the putter patter of paws on hard ground. I groaned, and quickly sat up, wide eyed and frantic. The nightmare had been too much for me to handle.
My dad, having a fiancé, who turned out to be pregnant... and he managed to keep all of it from me just to hit me head on with everything all at once. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and sighed. It was just a dream... Breathe in. Breathe out. It's okay.It was just a dream.
"Ah, you're awake." I looked to see Splinter, returning back to my side with a wet towel. He placed the small object into my hand. "How do you feel?"
"Warm." I began to sit up and push the piles of blankets from my body. I groaned and stretched out some. Once I was done, I looked around the little room I was in. It was in the back of Donnie's lab, a room he would put us in if someone got hurt or sick. This way we were out of the was of his inventions and chemicals, but we had a quiet room to curl up in. I wasn't sure exactly how I ended up in here, had I slept walked again? "How long have I been asleep?"
"I'm afraid you went unconscious, my child. For two days."
"Two days?! What in the world happened? Did I train too hard again?" The mutant shook his head and allowed me to sit completely upright. It was almost as if he didn't wish to tell me how I'd passed out for so long. "Am I sick?" I asked. "Where's Donnie? He would know."
"Your father and his brothers are out on a mission as of right now, (y/n). Please, tell me, what all do you remember before going unconscious?" That was a good good question. I had to think about it, but when I did, I found nothing.
"I don't remember anything...but I did have a pretty weird dream." I thought back to it and shook my head. "It was crazy."
"And what might it have been about?"
I shook my head once more. "It was nothing, Grandpa, really. I'm just relieved to know that it was a dream." I stood to my feet and pulled my hair into a quick ponytail. Splinter watched as I did so. He stroked his beard for a few long moments, thinking.
"(Y/n)."
"Yes?"
"You are aware of your father's unconditional love for you, correct?"
"Of course. He loves me and he wouldn't love anyone like he loves me, he's said this many of times. Why do you ask?" The mutant hummed thoughtfully, but the look on his face said something odd. I ignored it.
"I thought I would assure you if you doubted such truth. Before he left he asked me to tell you something. He said he loved you with every fiber of his being, and he wished he could stay by your side for when you woke up."
"But he couldn't because there's crime, I know." Another hum could be heard from the older mutant, but again, I ignored it. I let myself out of the room and to the kitchen, taking a bottle of water from the fridge. I paused when I realized the whole kitchen was mega stockpiled with food. Like....waaaayyy more than we needed. Canned food lined the the inside and tops of our cabinets. The fridge was stocked with fresh food, and the freezer had frozen food and several stacks of frozen store-bought meat. Something that we never kept but for occasion. The top of the fridge and the space beside of it and the wall help as many cases of drinks as possible. This ranged from waters, soft drinks, and sport drinks. The counter tops held even more food. Why did we have to much? Why did we need it? Why was it here? How did it get here? My only idea would have been April and Casey, but Casey didn't have the mindset for shopping, and April was putting back money for personal goals she wanted to achieve. I couldn't blame her. I was doing the same thing. So how did all of this get here, in the lair?
