It was funny, the way Leonardo realized that he liked you. It was simple, but his heart beat so loud he wanted to fall over, and his mind spun with so many thoughts that he wanted to scream. It was a painful pleasure he never wanted to end, but he too was scared. The only difference is that Leo wanted to move forward and handle this with maturity. He wanted to know how you felt, but he didn't ask. He observed. Which turned out as creepy stares and awkward questions.Leo realizing he liked you went a little something like this-
Leo landed on your roof in silence, watching you fiddle with something from the shadows. He was careful not to scare you, making his footsteps noticeable as he walked out into the light. You looked up and smiled at him as he propped himself on the wall not too far away. He smiled back.
"Good evening, (y/n)."
"Evening, Leo. What brings you out here?"
"I saw you sitting out here and figured I should stop by as I normally do. What do you have there?"
"It's an old sound-box, nothing much really." You changed the subject fast, putting the device in your pocket and standing up. "So did you come to claim something?"
"What would I have come to claim exactly?" Leo saw the mischievous glint in your eyes. The wind blew past the two of you, blowing your hair backward behind you. He saw your lips tug up into a grin, exposing your whitened teeth. He could feel chills crawl up up his arms and a strange thing happened. His face flushed a strange color in sudden shyness, which was unusual for such a confident leader. He could feel his heart rage inside of his chest, and his mind was both flooded and blank at the same time. It was a very odd feeling indeed, and he could barely ignore it. A silly smile came to his face instead of the one he was trying to pull, and you gave him a look.
"Are you okay there, hero?"
Hero.
Hero.
You called him Hero.
Teasingly, yes, but never before had he felt so vulnerable. You giggled, and he felt lightheaded. His movements were no longer his own, and he felt like he looked just as Donnie did over April. He felt ridiculous. God, have mercy on his soul, he felt weird.
It wasn't because you called him Hero either... so why did he feel this way?
Then it clicked.
He liked you.
Leonardo, leader in blue, confident, was weak for his best friend. He couldn't believe what he was feeling. So how did he react to his finding? Of course, Leo made a small excuse, saying it was time he headed home, and he made a break for it, tripping before he got out of your sights.
Man, did he feel like Donnie.
