Probably some Typos as always 🤦♀️Okay, so I didn't know exactly where to take this, but I had a couple people wanting different things- so I did the outcome of both.
Mikey and reader are a little shy in the second because they don't want to cross the wrong lines. I hope these are good!
Outcome #1: You die and visit Mikey as a ghost.
Mikey couldn't stand it.
It was as if his very heart had been torn from his chest. He watched as you closed your eyes, skin paling more and more by the second until you looked like a sheet of paper, and as he had feared, the eyes he'd grown to cherish didn't open again. It was hard to see exactly how everything happened because between his blurred tears and panic, he couldn't think straight. It was all happening way too fast to process, way too sudden for him to comprehend. Had you always been so fragile? Had your human life always been so easy to lose? He was forced to hear his brother's words in nothing but a distant echo that would surely haunt his dreams, forced to feel your very grip on his oversized hand go limp. Oh, how he loved your small hands. He saw the way your head rolled to the side as your last breath released itself from your chest- and even he knew that it was game over.
He knew that a ninja's code was to stay as quiet as you could, he knew it by heart that they couldn't risk humans knowing of their existence...but he couldn't control it.
He screamed your name, cried for you, begged you to come back to him. It felt like he'd been the one stabbed instead. Watching you slip away was the worst thing he had ever felt. He couldn't breathe, but yet somehow he had enough breath to waste it on your name.
He spoke the words he wish he had said so many before, managing to still withhold the small sliver of hope that it would make a difference. As if this was some sort of movie where you'd start breathing and smile up at him in a daze and it would all be okay.
But this was no movie.
And you were actually gone.
Raphael had never thought something would ever hurt more than not being human. But, he decided, pulling his brother's crumbling body away from cradling the one person he loved most in this cruel world was the worst pain. Hearing the youngest brother scream, tears pouring down his face like a split glass of water as he begging for you to come back. As he told you he loved you and swore if you came back to him that he would never let you go a day without knowing how much he loved you.
While Raph fought Mikey's struggling to get back to you, Leo had volunteered to pick you up. They didn't know what exactly they could do with you, so there was only one option left. And that was to put you somewhere the police would find you.
Mikey threw a tantrum, begging his brothers not to leave you, begging them not to discard you like trash or the foot members they would leave behind to be arrested.
But no matter what they tried, Mikey couldn't rationalize that you couldn't be taken back with them. They couldn't just send you off down the sewer pipes for a funeral- it wasn't right. Your family would have to come and claim you, they would give your a proper funeral.
All Mikey could hear was Away.
Away from him. Is that where you belonged? Is that where you should've been all along?
Yes, because then you would have never been hurt.
Mikey disappeared from his brothers that day. He swallowed up in his room in a bundle of sorrow. To him, there was no more light. You were the only thing left on the planet that he truly needed.
