Arabella

"Arabella." I woke up to the sound of Johnny's voice.

"Oh, sorry." I said, not really knowing what for.

I instantly got embarrassed, no one has seen me in the morning when I barely wake up.

"It's alright, we should go to see my friend now, he's usually out causing trouble, so that's why I made sure to wake you up early, he isn't a morning person." He said chuckling.

Yeah, me neither.

"Oh alright." I said, and looked around me to see if my bags were still there.

Not like it mattered, most of my clothes were small and old.

Johnny passed me my bags. "I kept your bags close to me last night, just to make sure they weren't stolen." He said, shyly.

"Thank you, Johnny." I said and smiled genuinely, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

I looked up at him to see that he was blushing.

-

We started to walk along the sidewalk but Johnny was oddly quiet.

"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"Nothing, really." He said quietly, but this was different than the Johnny I had been talking to all last night.

I looked around to see what could be bothering him.

I looked over to see two boys staring at us, next to a red mustang.

I looked closer, it was Bob and Randy.

They were Socs and caused a lot of trouble for us and then it all hit me.

They jumped Johnny.

My poor Johnny.

I felt my face get red of anger.

"Bella, let's go, I don't want to cause any trouble." He said in a scared voice.

Why is it that all the good, pure, Greasers get treated horribly?

"I'm sorry about the nickname, i'll call you Arabella if you want to." He said in a rush.

"No, no, I like it," I said giving him a small smile, looking over at Bob and Randy, they were walking over. "I like it, let's go Johnny." I said and he smiled and sighed.

-

We stopped at a place that looked like a bar.

"Yeah, it's not all that great, but it's all I could offer you." He said, scratching the back of his neck.

"It's okay Johnnycakes," I said and smiled in which he smiled back.

I never really smiled, but with Johnny, it's impossible not to.
