Arabella
I made my way home and opened the door.
To my surprise, two bags were laying on the floor and my mother was sitting on the couch silently.
"What's happening?" I asked.
"You're leaving, I want you out of this house in the next hour." She said bluntly which left me stunned.
"You can't just do tha-
"I can and I just did." She said with no emotion.
"You know what, make it 30 minutes." She added and turned away, making her way into the hallway into her room.
"Who will cook for you and clean your stuff and the house?" I asked starting to get frustrated.
"I will manage, it's not like you do much." She said, taking out a cigarette from her pocket.
Yeah, I doubt that. I bet she hasn't cooked edible food in her life.
"I don't understand, why is this happening, why now?" I asked her.
"I was tired of having you here," She said standing up.
"You are annoying, worthless, and needy." She complained.
"Just like that?" I asked, I got a familiar feeling in my nose and my eyes started to tear up.
I didn't get a response, though the silence was enough.
"Well, since i'm leaving," I said and she raised her eyebrows.
"You are a poor excuse of a mother, I had to clean for you and cook for you, and that's pathetic. I am sixteen and you are in your fucking thirties, grow the fuck up." I said, picking up my bag.
She raised her hand to slap me but I blocked her and grabbed her hand.
"Don't you dare ever think of putting your hands on me." I sneered and slammed the door.

I was walking along the sidewalk with the bag in my hand. I always feel out of place walking here but now it feels worse and different. It can be because i'm now homeless and i'm getting a different look of the world but I wouldn't know, I always felt different.
The sun was starting to fade and darkness started to take over.
This was beautiful to look at. The sunset. I never really got to look at one. I never got the chance to actually sit down and stare at one.
I started to walk, looking for a place where I could sleep.
I looked over and saw the lot.
It didn't look comfortable but it was the only possible choice I had.
"Hey."
I jumped.
There was a boy already there, I couldn't see him very well because night was taking over.
"I'm sorry for scaring you, miss." He said in a small voice.
Miss?
"It's okay, I didn't know there was already someone here, if you want me to leave, i'll leave." I rushed and bent down to get my belongings.
"No, please stay, please." He said again in his gentle voice.
"Alrighty." I said and smiled, sitting down.
"My name is Johnny Cade." He said.
His name sounded familiar.
"My name is Arabella Lane." I replied.
He passed me his leather jacket and rubbed his hands together.
"I thought you were cold, it's chilly out here." He said.
"Oh, well, thank you." I said politely.
"So, why are you out here so late?" He asked.
"Well, It's a long story." I said.
"I've got time." He said and smiled.
I told him my whole story, I didn't know why it was so easy, he was just so easy to talk to.
He also told me about his parents, and when he got jumped by the Socs.
"You know, in the morning, I'll take you to my friend's house, I think he'll let you stay somewhere." He said, his voice dozing off.
"You don't understand how grateful I am." I said, but he already closed his eyes.
I sat next to him and turned to the opposite side, taking off his leather jacket and putting it over us.
