Getting Better

The dark god woke up at a decent time, eight o'clock. The perfect time for his brother to get home and get the papers done. It also was a perfect time for him to make some breakfast... He wasn't really hungry though...

Taking in a deep breath, he carefully crawled out of bed and went downstairs. He may not be hungry, but he knew he should eat something... Besides, his brother and caretaker could use a break from cooking all the time... Especially Xasilinta...

He got some pancake batter, eggs and bacon. He started frying them all up, putting some bread slices into the toaster.

His bro and caretaker walked into the kitchen, looking confused. Reaper kept his hood over his face, he didn't want them to see him... He had caused enough problems for them...

Xas sat at the bar, holding a soft smile. He could feel the small bit of happiness forming in the darker God's being. He knew how much Reaper liked cooking, even a bit of baking. It made him feel better, made him feel like he was in control... It was a cute concept.

"What made you get up so early?" The younger held laughter in his tone, even still, it was soft.

Reaper shrugged, focusing on the food. He didn't want to be a nuisance to the kind God...

"You know, I don't mind taking care of you..." The young monster whispered, a sad look in his eyes as he felt the negativity forming along side the passion.

The Death God turned to the lighter being. He looked him over, seeing both sincerity and sympathy... Both of them made... Understanding...

The dark monster nodded, a small smile slipping his lips.

It was the first smile that he had smiled in nearly two years! The white wearing god blushed a light, sky blue and giggled. The mere sound caused the faint soul in the other's chest to beat just ever so quicker.

Quickly, he returned back to the food. He flipped the pancakes perfectly, they being a fluffy golden color. The bacon was fried to a golden crisp, which looked delicious, and the eggs were well done as well.

After making three plates, the god added some kiwis and small grapes as part of the small breakfast.

"C-Can..." Reaper took a deep breath and pulled himself together. He had to get use to being with his brother sometime...

With timid strides, he made his way over to his brother's office as he saw that was where he left to after seeing what was going down in the kitchen.

His knocks were meek and he hoped that they weren't too soft... He knew how hard it was to get his brother out of his work when he was normal...

The door slowly opened and there stood the taller God of Death. His eyes were tense and dark as they looked liked he hadn't slept in days.

"B-br-Breakfast i-is re-ready..." The smaller brother weakly whispered, his eyes down casted to the floor.

Papyrus was shocked that his brother had tried to come and get him for a meal! He hadn't had that in a while! It usually always was Xasilinta who got him!

A small, gentle smile appeared on the other's lips as he nodded. He didn't want to frighten his now easily scared brother... He didn't want to hurt him more than he already had... Even if he didn't know how.

The two walked into the dining room, one with his back straight and an air of confidence and the other hunched and having a scared look to him.

Xasilinta held a calm look, a look only he would know... Things were finally going to get better...
