If I Could Tell Her

Amanda's POV:

Akko has been going all lovebird on Diana. That's all she ever seems to talk about. Diana this, Diana that, I wish Diana this, I wish Diana that. She would just go on and on about how beautiful, talented, and smart she is. But she never found the fucking courage to ask her out! I grew tired of this, I went over to the red team's dorm and was about to kick down the door until I heard someone playing a guitar and singing.

If I could tell her
Tell her everything I see
If I could tell her
How she's everything to me
But we're a million worlds apart
And I don't know how I would even start
If I could tell her
If I could tell her

"YOU'RE GOING TO SING THAT TO HER!!" I said as I burst through the door, revealing a wide-eyed frightened Akko. "W-What?! I can't do that!" She protested. "You can and you will. I already signed you up!" Akko groaned and facepalmed onto her bed.

"Trust me Akko. She'll figure it out." I said smiling at her. She lifted her head and nodded, giving me a big bear hug and continued to write her song. I'm sure hope Diana figures it out.

Akko's POV:

It's the night of the magic talent show. Everyone was here, especially Diana. Amanda had insisted that I sing the song, but to be honest she's the only one that's heard it. I don't like singing in front of people because it makes me insecure about how I play and sing. But if this is my one chance, then I guess I better suck it up and find my courage to do this. Also Amanda said she would kick my ass if I croaked or chickened out.

"Next up, Akko Kagari!"

Time to shine. I walked to the center of the stage and sat down on the stool chair that was left there. "I wrote this song for someone I love, I hope you guys like it." I hesitated at first, but then looked at Amanda who was giving me a thumbs up with one hand and a fist with the other. I chuckled, then gulped, then started to play.

Well, I said
There's nothing like your smile
Sort of subtle and perfect and real
I said
You never knew how wonderful
That smile could make someone feelAnd I knew
Whenever you get bored
You scribble stars on the cuffs of your jeans (Just roll with it)
And I noticed
That you still fill out the quizzes
That they put in those teen magazines (Just roll with it)But I kept it all inside my head
What I saw I left unsaid
And though I wanted to
I couldn't talk to you
I couldn't find the way
But I would always say

I took a breath and looked at Diana who seemed shocked and amazed, I smiled and continued.

If I could tell her
Tell her everything I see
If I could tell her
How she's everything to me
But we're a million worlds apart
And I don't know how I would even start
If I could tell her
If I could tell herI thought
You looked really pretty, and also pretty cool when you put indigo streaks in your hair (Just roll with it)And I wondered how you learned to dance
Like all the rest of the world isn't there

I looked over at Diana again who was blushing, and smiling at me. I smiled knowing that she might be getting it.

But I kept it all inside my head
What I saw I left unsaidIf I could tell her
Tell her everything I see
If I could tell her
How she's everything to meBut we're a million worlds apartAnd I don't know how I would even start
If I could tell herIf I could tell her
But what do you do when there's this great divide? You just seemed so far awayAnd what do you do when the distance is too wide? It's like I don't know anythingAnd how do you say
I love you
I love you
I love you
I love youBut we're a million worlds apart
And I don't know how I would even start
If I could tell her
If I could... tell her

Everyone stood up and clapped for me and I smiled and took a big bow. I looked around for Diana, but couldn't find her. I grew sad but I still smiled and waved goodbye and headed back stage then to the bathroom. Maybe it wasn't meant to be.

Diana's POV:

After hearing Akko's last verse, I covered my mouth as tears started to roll down my face. I excused myself from my friends and headed towards the hallway bathroom and cried. Not because of sadness, but because of happiness. She did that for me, I know it had to be me. No one else knew that about me but her.

I was about to get out until I heard footsteps heading towards the door, I hid in one of the stalls and heard voices. "Oh come on Akko, it wasn't that bad. You did great and you didn't croak or chicken out." I heard Amanda say, followed by a light thud. Most likely a small punch in the arm. Akko sighed, "She left, that tells me she doesn't feel the same way, she must've got it. Now I have no chance. Just plz leave me alone, I-I need some time to think."

I felt my heart break at the words that slipped out of Akko's mouth, that came from her heart. I waited for Amanda to leave then I opened the stall door, startling Akko leaving her wide-eyed. "D-Diana?! W-What...H-How much did you hear?" She said with shaking breath. "Every word... Every beautiful word. You wrote that for me?" I asked her, she slowly nodded as I could see the blush rising to her face.

I chuckled and kissed her cheek, "I love you too." Akko gave me a shocked and happy look as she hugged me close, "I'm not afraid anymore." She said and I smiled and kissed her forehead, "I'm glad." Akko lifted her head and smiled, "I'm glad I was able to tell you." She then kissed me softly and I smiled into it, kissing her back.
