"any - anyone else want a chocolate bar?" Toby offered his bowl of chocolates that he was shoving into his mouth as Blinky nervously paced his room. "I find stress eating calms me down"

I was standing in the corner of the room next to Jim when he moved away and started pacing too. suddenly, blinky grabbed him and shook him violently.

"I am sorry to say, master Jim, but your town is infested with goblins!" Blinky yelled at Jim.

"Okay, trolls I can deal with because, at least, trolls stay underground" Jim sighed "but goblins!? I don't even have the bandwidth too -"

"Jim" Toby interrupted urgently "we've got to get my tubby tracker back! as long as they've got it, they're just going to get faster and stronger!"

"must find den" Aaarrrgghh interjected as Toby finished the chocolates and he ate the leftover bowl.

"yes" Blinky confirmed, "and eradicate them at one before they seek their revenge!"

"revenge?" I asked him worriedly.

"on you three" he clarified "and now they know where Tobias lives."

"then we have to find their den" I concluded firmly as I went over to where Jim was sitting on Toby's bed "you must know where it is Blinky."

"haven't the foggiest" Blinky shrugged in reply "it could be anywhere."

As Blinky stopped to contemplate the possibilities, a faint chatter was heard from within toby's dollhouse and Blinky spun quickly around to peer in the small window.

"great gronka morka!" Blinky cried in surprise "what is the gnome doing in this dollhouse?!"

"gnome?!" I exclaimed as Jim and Toby glanced sheepishly at a furious Blinky "what gnome?"

No one had the chance to reply as toby's nana yelled from downstairs.

"toby pie!" I don't recognise that voice, who is it?"

"it's a friend nana!" Toby yelled back angrily "I do have more than one!"

"no you don't" she yelled back at him.

I giggled behind my hand, I think I like Toby's grandmother.

A few moments later:

"you told me to take care of the gnome so we're taking care of it!" Jim explained as Blinky fumed.

"This is in direct violation of rule number two!" Blinky scolded Jim as he motioned at the dollhouse "whatever happened to finishing the fight?"

"and rule number one is to always be afraid, except when you're around goblins, because they smell fear" Jim retorted as he got off the bed and started to walk angrily across the room"your rules make less sense than algebra, which, oh yeah, I have in a few hours, unless I get eaten by goblins tonight!"

"he has a point" I muttered to Toby.

"I'm sorry. I'm no good at understanding your rules" Jim apologised sincerely (queue the sad violin music, lol) "I'm not ready for Draal, Bular or finding a stupid den of goblins."

"As your trainer, I can only advise you, not make your decisions," Blinky told Jim as he rested his hand comfortingly on Jim's shoulder "I understand. you're human. you're learning the rules in your own way, Aaarrrgghh and I will seek out this den, wherever it may be. you just focus on your studies. it seems life has thrown enough at you for one day."
