I sat with Jim and Blinky in a bush across from Eli's house and tried to see if a truck was arriving but it was hard to tell since the only light was the pale yellow glow of a few flickering streetlights. It was so quiet that it seemed almost as if I had only the stars for company.

"It's already nine o'clock, urgh" Blinky growled angrily and his voice pierced the quiet night air like needle through thread "it appears the only thing being delivered is failed expectations."

"Be glad their aren't any goblins" I yawned as Jim took out his walkie-talkie to talk with Toby.

"Hey Tobes" he muttered into the walkie-talkie "all clear. How's it going over there?"

"All good in the hood, trollhunter" I could vaguely hear Toby whisper "except I can't stop moving, my love of stakeout is being ruined by my overwhelmed need to obtain swag. Other than that, nothing unusual."

"Like there's anything more unusual than him" I scoffed as Blinky tried to adjust the binoculars we had to his six eyes.

"Warhammer out" Toby added.

Soon after me said that I heard the faint rumble of car wheels

"Warhammer to trollhunter, the package has arrived" Toby whispered hurriedly and we all looked up to see the unmistakable silloette of a delivery truck pull up beside Eli's house.

A guy in a delivery suit who was listening to what I imagine was heavy rock music exited the car and retrieved a small box from the back of the truck. I winced as he dropped the box which made a loud crash as it fell onto the concrete. Even though our package was delivered in one piece I don't think Eli's will be.

"Let's get him out of here before it's too late" Jim stressed as he got ready to run after the delivery guy but Blinky stopped him.

"Wait" Blinky told Jim as he pointed out the goblins that were smashing the street lights one by one "his fate may already be sealed. They're here, look!"

One by one, glowing yellow eyes appeared from the gloom until they stepped into the streetlight. Let me just tell you, goblins look horrible, they have large yellow, glowing eyes and their spindly fingers remind me of spiders.

"No" Jim said determinedly as he stood up angrily " I'm not going to let an innocent person -"

He was cut off when Blinky knocked both of us to the ground in panic.

"Great trouble!" He whispered loudly into the walkie-talkie "there spears to be far more than I anticipated. Stay down and don't make a sound! In their frenzied state they'll attack anything in their path."

As Blinky finished, the postman reached Eli's door and rang the bell in time with his music. He was completely oblivious to the fact that he was probably going to be torn limb from limb within the next few seconds. After a second or two, Eli opened the door and I could vaguely hear him exclaiming in joy as he shook the box. The delivery guy muttered something to him and walked into his house.

"But that's Eli!" He exclaimed to me and Blinky "he's in our class"

"Or at least he used to be" I corrected him gravely as the goblins continued advancing towards his house.

Suddenly the goblins all let out war cries and advanced towards the delivery truck! They had swarmed over it in seconds and soon all I could see of it was a large tangle of spindly green limbs. It was both terrifying and fascinating to watch.
