It was almost hard for David to concentrate with the constant tapping foot of Shannon at his door. He groaned, "What do you want, Shannon?" He eyed his closed door both annoyed and curious.
She rocked on her feet as she asked in the most sweetest voice she could, "Can I come in?"
He rolled his eyes, "Wait till I get my pants on." He was actually deciding which pair to wear, but since Shannon was sort of rushing him he just grabbed a random pair and pulled them on. He opened the door and leaned against the frame, blocking her from running in. "Now, why do you even want to come into my garbage dump?"
She giggled, knowing that he was completely right. She knew he was a very messy person and it had been a week since she had seen his room. It must have been a mess for him to not let her in immediately.
"I just want to see what you're doing! I'm bored." He rolled his eyes again and stepped away from the door, letting her run in.
She jumped onto the bed and looked around, her jaw dropping. He laughed at her expression. He knew she would react that way when she saw how clean his room was. Normally when he would "clean" his room it was sloppy and not fully clean.
"It looks like grandma came over." Her eyes lit up and she looked hopeful, "Did she?" He shook his head and she huffed, "Well, why is it so clean?"
He grinned to himself, "None of your business." He walked to his closet and looked down at the pair of pants he had. They were slightly big and faded and then he looked into his closet at his shirts.
He pulled out a baby blue button up shirt and held it up to his chest, "What do you think about this?" He turned to her and she looked at it intently.
"Hmmm..." He began to tap his foot impatiently. She smiled, "Tell me where you're going and I'll give you my honest opinion."
"Forget your opinion then!" He pulled it off its hanger and slipped his arms through the holes, "I'll go ask Mom." He left the room, beginning to button it from the bottom up. He descended the stairs and emerged into the living room, finding his mom slouched in a chair.
She looked up at him and raised an eyebrow, "Where are you going, Mister?"
He rolled his eyes and stood in front of her, "That's not important. What is important is that you tell me what you think of this outfit." He grinned as he pretended to pose like a model.
She laughed, "I'll tell you what I think if you tell me where you're going." She giggled, "And I hope I don't have to worry about you turning gay in the future."
"Fine. I'm going on a date and no I will not turn gay anytime soon. Trust me, not interested in that stuff."
"Oh. Who are you going on the date with?"
"Jessie."
He tugged up on his pants and she sighed, "I hope you know what you're getting yourself into." She stood up and inspected his clothes, "Put on a belt and I think you'll be fine."
He grinned and turned away, running up the stairs. He opened his door and found Shannon shifting through his drawers. He growled and she closed it quickly, turning to him with fake innocence in her eyes.
"Shannon! Haven't I told you to not go through my stuff?!" To his surprise she ran out of the room and slammed the door behind her. He shook his head with a sigh and walked to his closet again, pulling out a belt and looping it through his pants. "This better go as planned."

Jessie slowly paced around her room, trying to remember if she had forgotten anything. "Let's see... deoderant, check. Teeth brushed, check." She looked in the mirror to double check her make-up. "Alright... that's fine too." She ran her fingers through her hair to make sure there were no knots.
She paced again impatiently, constantly looking up at the clock. It was five minutes past seven and she was going completely crazy with nerves. She had spent an hour deciding on an outfit and it took her almost another hour to finish getting ready.
"You're late!" she screamed out. She was so frustrated with David. She wanted to scream at him when he came to take her to the future disaster. "If he even comes," She muttered bitterly.
She heard a soft tap at her window and she quickly ran to it in curiosity. She grumbled and pushed out the doors. She looked down and to her surprise she saw David with a rock about to throw it. She waved her hands, "Don't throw! I surrender!" He laughed and she giggled despite how angry she had been before.
He dropped the rocks and held out his arms, "Jump, Juliet!"
Her eyes widened and she pressed a finger to her lips, whispering, "Be quiet! They might hear you!"
He chuckled, "Scared?" She nodded and his smile grew bigger, "Come on, Babe. It's not that hard to jump."
She scoffed, "Don't call me babe." She sat on the window sill and swung her legs over, "Thank God I wore shorts under this dress." When she had raided her closet, she had found a green sundress with yellow faded flowers around it. She chose a short blue jean jacket, brown western style boots, and just incase something happened, she wore a pair of shorts.
He continued to smile up at her, waiting for her to jump so he could easily catch her. She looked down and swallowed hard, holding on to the sides of the window tightly, "Umm... David, I don't think this was a good idea."
"Come on... just jump. I promise I will catch you."
She huffed, "Fine. But if I wake up in a hospital or the afterlife, I will come back to kill or haunt you." She heard him laugh before she took in a deep breath and closed her eyes. She slowly let go of the window and let herself slip. She felt her hair and clothes fly around her as she flew past part of the house and she gasped as she felt David's strong arms catch her.
"I told you I would catch you." She opened her eyes and he set her down gently on her feet. He grinned down at her, "It's a good thing you didn't scream." He glanced at the lited room beside her bedroom.
She grinned and smoothed out her dress, avoiding his eyes, "Sure was." She reached up with her other hand and fluffed out her hair, afraid of how it might have looked.
He laughed at her, "What's with the country looking get up?"
She blushed and hit his arm, "I find it fashionable."
He scoffed and rubbed his arm, "Yeah... In Texas, maybe." She growled and he leaned down, "Can't I get a small kiss for my heroic deed of not dropping your pretty ass?"
She giggled and leaned up slightly, as if she would kiss him. She whispered, "Not in your dreams, Romeo." He had his eyes closed expecting a kiss and she giggled, pushing his shoulder lightly.
He stumbled back slightly and sighed, "I can't even get one for taking you on this soon to be amazing date?" She shook her head with a smile and he reached forward and took her hand. He tugged her toward her back yard and they kept close to the fence's shadow.
She grumbled as he pulled out through the fence's door. He began to lead her out into the woods and she became nervous. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
She bit her lip, "You better not kidnap me... or something like that."
"You're a very paranoid little girl, aren't you?" He chuckled as he maneuvered with her past trees.
"Yes... Yes I am. What if we run into rogues out here?" It was always possible.
David tightened his grip on her hand and growled, "That will not happen again. Besides, we're close enough to your house that I don't think they would be any near here." She bit her lip and squeezed his hand back. David refused to consider that Jessie could be harmed. He wouldn't accept it. He was determined to protect her.
She bumped into him and he turned to her with a smile just as the last rays of sun were beginning to disappear, "We're here."
