A/N: You would not believe how hard I worked on this. I put it down for a week and it turned into... God knows how long. But here it is and I don't know how people will take it. My mind is going completely blank on this story, but I'm trying my hardest. So sorry for the wait for people who were actually waiting for me to upload. Enjoy.
Jessie pushed past him and her mouth dropped open at the sight. It was one of the few places in the forest where it was just grass, flowers, and barely any trees. There were open jars with candles lit and a blanket spread out on the grass. There was a big cooler on the grass and Jessie tried desperately to make words.
David walked up behind her and bent to whisper in her ear, "So, what do you think?" He had put a lot of thought into this scene just for her.
"David..." She stepped back until she ran into his chest and felt his arms wrap around her. "How did you do all of this? The candles and everything." She was so surprised. He couldn't have done all this.
He chuckled and looked around at it also, "I had a little help from a friend before I came over here."
She scoffed and pulled away from him again, "I bet that friend helped you think up this whole thing."
"Why? Because I'm dumb?" She flinched and felt bad about what she said immediately. He sighed and reached forward, grabbing her shoulder and pulled her closer so he could wrap his arms around her again, "Don't doubt me when I say I thought this thing up all by myself. I am a big boy after all."
She sighed and looked up above them at the stars and glanced once or twice at his face, "Believe it or not, I believe you." Her arms slowly came up around him till she was able to hug his chest and lay her head against. Their heartbeats raced through together until slowing to a similiar rythm.
He smiled and kissed her head before pulling away, "Come on... There's food. Have you eaten yet?"
She shook her head with a small remnant of a smile still playing on her lips, "No, I haven't." She bit back the rest that she had been planning to say. She almost let it slip that she hadn't eaten all day because of him.
He smiled and let her go so he could walk past her and pick up the cooler. He sat down and patted the spot beside him. She sat down a few inches from him, sitting with her legs to the side. He opened the cooler and looked inside.
"Alright, do you want a beer or a Coke?"
She scoffed, "You better not have beer in there."
Her curiosity was peeking and she was slightly disappointed when he laughed, "I know. There really isn't, I was just joking with you. There's really only Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, or Coca-Cola. Choose."
She shrugged, "Diet, I guess."
He stuck his tongue out and handed one to her, "You have no real taste." He grabbed a Dr. Pepper and popped the top, looking at her.
"Oh, and you do?" She popped the cap and took a sip from her drink.
"Sure do. Now let's move on to what we will eat." He shuffled through the cooler and took out a wrapped square and smiled at her, "You don't mind eating sandwiches, right?"
She couldn't help but smile also and shook her head, "No, I don't mind." He offered her one and she took it. She un-wrapped it from its plastic wrap and she pulled one of the bread pieces up, laughing, "Peanutbutter and jelly?"
She could barley make out a small blush that appeared on his face in the candle light and he stuttered, "Shut up... I'm not a good cook and I figured it was either that or something completely burnt or tasteless. If you don't want it then I will eat it."
