Mandi
“Are you excited to find out what you’re having,” the ultrasound technician,
Ms. Barnes, asked.
“Yeah, I guess,” I shrugged. I honestly didn’t care about the gender of my
twins, all that matters to me at this point is if they’re both healthy.
“Do you want boys, girls, or one of each,” Ms. Barnes asked me.
“Personally, I don’t really care as long as they’re both healthy,” I answered.
“What about you guys,” Ms. Barnes asked my mom, AnaBella, and Dillon.
“One of each,” AnaBella answered excitedly.
“Little boys,” Dillon said just as excitedly.
“I’m with Mandi that as long as both of the twins are healthy it doesn’t matter
what they are,” my mom said.
“Why do you want them both to be little boys,” I asked Dillon incredulously.
“Just because they’d keep you extra busy which in turn will make you happy
most of the time,” he answered simply.
“All right, are you ready to find out,” Ms. Barnes asked me.
“Yes,” I said.
“Okay, it looks like you’re having a boy and a girl,” she told us all excitedly.
“Aww,” AnaBella gushed on the verge of crying from happiness.
I almost told her that there wasn’t any reason for her to cry, but then I found
that I was also crying.
“Dang it,” Dillon said theatrically, “I really wanted them both to be boys.”
“Don’t worry,” I laughed, “I’m sure that they’ll keep me busy and happy a lot.”
“Here’s you some pictures of the twins,” Ms. Barnes said handing me the
pictures and then she wiped the gel off of my stomach. “You are now free to
go do what you want.”
“Help me up,” I told AnaBella.
I was finding that the farther into the pregnancy I was getting, the harder it got
for me to sit up by myself.
“Do you want to go get lunch,” my mom asked all of us as we walked out of
the hospital.
“Sure,” we all agreed almost at the same time.
“Where do you want to go,” my mom asked.
“Somewhere with amazing food and chocolate caramel shakes,” I suggested.
“I know just the place where I always use to go when I was pregnant,” my
mom replied. “All three of you can ride in Dillon’s car and follow me there.”
“Okay, let’s go because I’m starving,” I said rushing everyone.
