"Did mom send you? Because if she did, I'm not talking to you." Jevine teased Latham, turning around and crossing her arms.

"No. She doesn't even know I'm here because I promised her I wouldn't come." He replied, chuckling at his little sisters behavior.

"Ok, explain what's going on? If you're her brother, than you can tell us what happens when she breaks down like that." Sevaline said.

"Oh trust me. That wasn't a break down. That was barely a tantrum. She can get much worse." Latham said carefully, seeing Jevine start to slouch in her position.

"He was in my head again. I was watching it as if it were happening again. I keep living the same thing over and over and-"

"He's not here Jevine. I'm here. Now, all of you go with your family membwrs, and I'll be with mine." Latham said, shooting everyone away.

everyone slowly and cautiously walked away. Natalie and Asher gave a questioning look towards Latham before walking with the rest.

Once they were all gone, Latham grabbed Jevine and pulled her away to where no one could see or hear them.

"What news did you find Latham?" Jevine asked anxiously. Latham pulled out a file and handed it to Jevine.

"Remember that I took this security guard job at his prison for you Jevvy. You can't go having small melt down like that. We can't afford that to happen. Especially right now." Latham said seriously.

Jevine looked through the file and came upon an article. She read through it and had conflicted feelings.

"Alvar is being released when?! It doesn't say here Lathy! He's coming back into the world?! He's going to-"

"It's not official yet. The court is debating whether to release within the next year, or have him sentenced to twenty years in prison."

"He should be life sentenced! He should never be allowed to come back! Not after what he did. I can't live with that." Jevine said, handing back the file.

"They should make a final decision on the next week, but I don't get access to the file room for another two weeks. You'll have to wait until then. Anyways, let's get off 'Alvar' talk and on to 'Camp' talk! How was my lil' sis's first day at camp?" Latham smiled, packing away the file and sitting next to Jevine.

"Horrible! I never knew how curious and nosey people can be! A few people know about my scar, but I haven't told them how I got it. I hate it. Everything I have goes back to Alvar.... And dad."

"I know. I feel bad that you were the one burdened with everything and I was left with a clean slate. You got the first hand witness, the battle scar, the wrong boyfriend, the loss of a father."

"He was your dad too Latham. We're blood siblings."

"Yeah, but you know I had the worst relationship with him. You and dad were best buds though. I only lost my father figure the day he died. I didn't lose my friend." Latham sighed, referring every foolish thing he did as a child.

Jevine and Latham talked for a while longer until lunch, where the military veterans and serving soldiers returned home or to their base. Latham howevwr, stayed and had lunch with Jevine and the cabins.

"So... Where's you two go off two when we left?" Ryan asked.

"Not far. Just off somewhere alone. There's some family drama back home happening that Jevine needs to know about." Latham said, making an excuse to not tell the truth.

Latham is way better at hiding a lie than I am. Jevine thought, pouting at her personal competition.

"Oh, is everything ok?" Natalie asked, worried.

"It's no one else's business honestly. Just forget about it." Jevine grunted, throwing her food away. She left the mess hall and walked around the camp ground by herself.

 "We finally have you alone."

Jevine quickly looked up and around. She saw the Racoon cabin circling around her.

"What do you want?" She asked bluntly.

"You made us look like fools with our own prank! We want payback!" Silvester said.

"I just like bugs. And that prank was weak anyways." Jevine snickered, keeping her head down.

"You wanna say something like that again?" Chad said, a shorter boy that could honestly be a fifth grader. But he was actually sixteen, so Jevine tried to take him seriously.

"What do you plan on doing now?" Jevine taunted.

"It will come when you least expect it. Look out Mitcham. Your in the Raccoons bad side." Silvester finished. They walked away, leaving Jevine one again to her thoughts.

Just as I had hoped. I'm on their radar, not the cabins. Jevine smiled, walking back to the mess hall.
