Kaia stood in her dressing room, looking in the mirror at her new dress. It was a long blue that went down to her ankles and spread out from her waste. It had little ruffles in them that had pink under. So when she twirled it was a blur of pink and blue. She grabbed the edges of her dress and practiced her curtsy. She smiled at the fact of how she pretty much perfected it. She moved over and sat down at one of her tables and one of the servants came over and did her makeup. Not to much but just enough to make her look stunning. Then her long wavy blonde hair was put up into a bun that had some loose pieces of her hair coming out. She grabbed her favorite blue butterfly pin her father gave her and put it into he hair. Kaia smiled at her complexion excitedly. Today was her sixteenth birthday, and her father was throwing a banquet in celebration. She has lived most of her life in the peaceful walls of the palace. She would roam the halls and has visited every room, or so she thinks. But most of her pass time was spent in her fathers library, where she read books of old legends and myths.
Kaia stood up and thanked the servant, who left after. She looked back into the mirror and sighed dreamily. "Maybe I'll get to dance with Zane." She said to herself hopefully. She has had a crush on Zane since she was thirteen years old.
Kaia stood up and walked out of her dressing room. Instantly two body guards came to her side to escort her to the ball room. As they walked down the halls Kaia was nearly exploding with excitement. They entered the ballroom which was filled with men and women in fancy dresses. Kaia went to talking and eating some small treats until she saw him across the ballroom. The tall dark haired boy, with sharp face features and strong body figure. He noticed she saw him and walked over with a kind smile. "Hey Zane." She said somewhat shy. He held out his hand for her. "Hey Kaia, care to dance?" She took his hand and he wrapped his other arm around her waist, and she put her hand on his shoulder and they took the dance floor, swaying to the music.
As they danced she glanced across the room and spotted a strange woman who was eyeing her. When they danced closer she realized it wasn't a women, but a girl who looked about her age. She had dark long wavy hair and piercing orange eyes. She had a tall, slim figure and a stance that looked ready to attack someone at any moment. She was beautiful in her own scary way. She looked over at her and into Kaia's eyes, giving her a moment of fear and she shivered.
Zane looked at Kaia and then to were she was looking. "What's wrong? Is she bothering you?" He asked her. Kaia shook her head. She was about to respond when the raven haired girl raised her hand. Whats that sup- she barely had time to finish her thought before an explosion shook the room. Debris fell from the ceiling and Zane tackled her to the ground and got on top of her. She would have totally been blushing if not for the loud yelling and screaming that rang throughout the room. After the shaking stopped she looked beyond Zane's body and saw a party of about twenty-five people had entered the ball room through the big hole that now shown on the side of the east wall of the building. They had ragged punk looking clothing and armor, many of them were armed with sharp swords or bows. When she glanced over to were the girl was she was running to join the other rebels, though she was out of place wearing a dress. Until she ripped that off to show a black shirt that stopped before her belly button, showing of her strong stomach and slight abs. She was also wearing black leggings. Then a female brunette hand her a red and black coat of armor. She put it on as the rest of her company fought the body guards that came over.
