Chapter Thirteen

After a draining week, I began to get the hang of it. My little forester stayed by my side and I named it 'Sy'. She didn't do much, but sometimes gave me buffs and bit the enemy. I protected her and she protected me. The scientists were slowly starting to try the augma too, since they couldn't find any problems. Sy stayed out of their way and so did they. I started to clear the surroundings so the scientists could get to places. In the end, most of my training was about transporting the scientists, while killing the monsters. Other than that, it was just clearing the whole building and around. They put up sensors in places, to prevent the beasts from spawning, but left some places for me.

In the end, I got my computer, played Lenpato a bit and went on with work. I didn't have a lot of time, but I still skyped Macy every day, like promised. The month flew by with no problems. Little did I know, that school would be much different ...

"Come on Lyra! Breakfast!" I was quickly grabbing my stuff and put it in my bag. I wasn't used to 'school uniforms', so I didn't really take it into account. I also wasn't used to taking books with me. When done I looked in the mirror. I had a short blue skirt and a white formal shirt with a blue matching tie. Finally, I I took my blue vest and went down. "Eat quickly, you'll leave in 5. Shoot ... I quickly ate, put my shoes on and took my bike off to work.

After I was done with training, I put my school uniform back on. Let's go ... I planted a kiss on Sy and gave a gentle smile. "Byebye little one ..." I then took the augma off and put it back in my bag. I waved a few people bye and took my bike to school. I arrived 10 minutes before time and looked around. It looked like the Japanese schools you always saw in anime. I went inside and searched for my name. It was at the right side, which looked pretty empty. My name was at the bottom. I put my shoes in the small locker and took the inside shoes out of my backpack to put them on. I walked on and decided to spend the last 8 minutes to look for my class.

I finally found it, until I realized I had to go to the teacher's office. I glanced at the time. 1 minute?! I quickly ran the way back to the beginning. Upon arriving, the teachers were leaving the room. "Lyra Agnia?" I coughed and straightened my back. "Yes sir?" He looked at me. "Don't forget to be on time." He started to walk to class and I followed him. "I understand sir, I was looking for the class, until I realized I had to be here." He sighed. "Okay then, I understand. Now, when we walk inside, just stay at the front for a bit." I nodded. "Okay sir." We walked the rest of the way in silence.

The teacher walked inside and I stood beside him. "Everyone seat youself." The class rumbled and in a few seconds everyone was in their respected seat. "Now, let me introduce you to the new student. She will be joining us for half a year." A hand quickly raised from a girl in the front seat. "Yes Mia?" She had long blonde hair and didn't look too friendly. "If she stays only half a year, then why is she in A class? Also, is it legal to stay only for half the year?" She looked at me with piercing eyes. Great ... At my old school there was never this problem, because you couldn't tell anyone anything, because you didn't know them, but I quickly realized this was different. I looked at the teacher. He didn't seem surprised at the question. "She is in A class, because we got a special letter, that made it possible. And f--." "Why's that even possible?!" Mia stood up.

She seemed a little angry. The teacher sighed. "Lower your voice and sit down Mia. We can't give out classified information. Now, for your other question, she will continue her studies from her old school, while studying here. But she won't neglect our schoolwork. Other questions?" The class was silent. He turned to me. "Good, now introduce yourself." I took a deep breath. Everyone's eyes were on me. "Hello everyone, my name is Lyra Agnia. It's nice to meet you, please take care of me." I bowed. When back up, the teacher told me to take a seat in he back row next to the window. I silently went over to my place and sat down. I got a few stares, but just ignored them and looked out the window, while class was starting. I took my book, but didn't really listen to the teacher. I just copied the notes from the board and worked on my own. This will be a long 6 months ...
