She sees lust in his eyes,
Not because she's full of it,
But because she can't find reasons
To believe in love anymore.
She sees fire burning in his eyes,
The flame behind that sparkle,
Never noticing the blue behind the red,
That he's just afraid.
He believed he was just a game she would play,
Not realizing that each card she laid meant taking chances.
He took her uncertainty as "no"
When all she wanted was him asking her to say "yes" despite it all.
They were cautious,
Not wanting to lose;
Lose a battle they would have won
Had they chosen to just fall, get hurt, and lose control.
