Your POV
I stood next to Adam as all of the rookie pilots lined up. The Galra was attacking and Admiral wanted to send out the rookie pilots, which we all know what the shittiest idea ever.

"Ok. Pilots Connor, Jenna, Carlos, Adrien, and Y/N please step forward." Admiral said.

"NO!" Adam yelled, stepping in front of me.

"I'll go." Adam breathed. My eyes widened as my heart began to beat faster and faster. Me and Adam had been dating for over two years. We were planning to leave the Garrison at the end of this year to get married and start a family like we both dreamed. We all knew this was a suicide mission and that not everyone was going to come out alive.

"A-Adam. No. Don't." I whispered. He turned around and grabbed my hand in his, intertwining our fingers.

"Y/N. You're the love of my life. You mean the world to me. You deserve to walk out of this place. I know you can get over me if I don't come back." He said, smiling down at me. My eyes widened as tears pricked at the corners of my eyes.

"Adam. Please. It's ok. Don't leave me." I whispered. He smiled and kissed my lips passionately. I kissed back and wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me close. We pulled away and I laid my head on his chest.

"You couldn't have loved me better, Y/N. I love you." He whispered, kissing my head gently.

"A-A-Adam. Please. Please dont." I breathed. He squeezed me tighter and kissed my head again.

"I love you too." I said, looking up at him. He wiped away my tears and smiled, letting go of me.

"Just know if I don't make it back, you're the best thing that ever happened to me and that you're such an amazing person. You can move on after me and start a beautiful family." He said. I shook my head no and looked down, grabbing his hand.

"I-if you die. I won't move on. You are and always will be my soulmate, Adam." I said. He smiled and kissed me one last time.

"I love you, N/N." He said, smiling. I smiled and let go of his hand.

"I love you too, Adam." I said. He smiled and turned away from me.

"I'll be taking Y/N's place." Adam said. Admiral nodded.

"Well we've already wasted enough time. Let's get a move on." She said. I growled and huffed, watching Adam walk with the rest of the pilots. He turned around and smiled at me. Tears fell down my cheeks as I ran to Adam again, hugging him. He picked me up and hugged me tightly.

"Come back. Please Adam." I whispered between sobs. He quieted me and kissed me one last time. I kissed back and hugged him so tight.

"I love you, Y/N. I could never stop loving you." He said. I nodded and kissed his cheek.

"I love you too Adam." I said. He smiled and put me down, grabbing my hand and kissing it before slowly letting go and following the pilots. I wiped my eyes and turned around to see Mr Holt. He took a deep breath and looked down, walking away. I followed him and we ended up in the room where you could track the ships. I held my breath as I heard the ships begin to take off. I looked down at the ring on my finger, it was the promise ring Adam gave to me a couple of months ago. It was when we began to think about our future together. I held my breath again and put my hand close to my heart, feeling the ring against my chest.

"AAAAAAHHH!" I heard one pilot scream, then there name on the board disappear. My heart dropped as more and more screams could be heard and more names disappeared.

"GOD DAMNIT GET THEM OUT OF THERE!" I yelled, holding back tears.

"NO NO NO!! AHHH! Y/N!!" Adam yelled. My heart dropped as I looked up on the board to see Adams name soon turn red as you could hear his ship exploding.

"N-NOOOO!!! ADAM NO!!" I screamed, tears rushing down my face. I fell to the floor, unable to contain my emotions. My hands were shaking and my heart and head were pulsing. I couldn't breath or hear anything. I looked up to see all the names on the board red. I got up from the floor and grabbed the collar of the admiral, bringing her close to my face.

"HOW THE FUCK COULD YOU KILL OFF THOSE PILOTS LIKE THAT. YOU KNEW IT WOULD BE A SUICIDE MISSON!!" I screamed, more tears coming. I couldn't hear anyone calling my name at this point. I pushed the admiral so she fell on her ass. Mr Holt pulled me off and walked me away. More tears came streaming down my face as Mr Holy hugged me as I cried.

•2 Days Later•
  The same day of Adams death, I resigned from The Garrison. I couldn't stand being in a place that was a huge factor as to why the love of my life was gone. I sat by his grave, holding my legs to my chin. His funeral was the day before, and it was the hardest thing I ever faced in my life.

"I-I uh miss you Adam. God I miss you so much. It's been really hard not hearing your voice anymore or not waking up next to you anymore. Your mom gave me some of your hoodies that I could keep and I keep all of your pictures out so it feels like you're still with me." I said, tears starting to fall down my face.

"I wish I was the one who was in that plane. You deserve to be around longer and fulfill all the plans you wanted to do with me. I don't plan on moving on now. I don't want to. This pain is just too much for me." I whispered, my eyes hurting from crying so hard.

"I love you, Adam. Goodbye." I said, putting my rose on his grave and standing up, slowly leaving the graveyard.

Ok yeah I lied lmao. I had to make Adam angst because I've seen so much of it i got inspired. Adam didn't deserve to die but hey he's dead so imma write about it too 😭.

I'll make hella cute Adam fluff soon cause writing this really hurt me wow. I love Adam so much god.

I'm sorry if this was really angsty. I actually didn't mean for it to be so sad wow. The thing I hate about this oneshot is that Adam was fucking READY to take this bullet for Y/N ugh.

Also yes I know Adam is gay but I still wanna put him with females because again I don't 100% go after the canon Voltron, so y'know lmao.
