~ summary: a babysitting gig turns into a night full of surprises with your crush,

"Sooo, are you excited about Kyle's party tonight?" Chelsea asked as you two walked down the halls of your high school.

You had been dreading that question all day due to how you would have to answer.

"As much as I really want to, I can't," you said.

"Why?" she asked.

"I have to babysit."

She cringed a little and you shrugged.

"That sucks. For who?" she asked as the bell rang throughout the halls.

"One of my neighbors."

She gasped.

"Please don't tell me it's the one with-"

"Yes," you said with a sigh. "The one with five kids."

I know what you're thinking. That's insane! Yes, it's incredibly insane for two people to care for five children all under the age of six.

They wanted to go on a date night so they stopped you while you were walking your dog and asked if you could watch them.

You would've said no so you wouldn't miss Kyle's party, and I mean, there were five kids to watch, but they seemed in dire need of a break and you were their only hope.

"Sure," you had said, immediately regretting it afterwards.

You were hoping to go to the party to see your crush, Ethan, but you figured helping out your neighbors was more important than that.

Ethan was, after all, way too popular for you anyway. Wasn't worth taking the shot if you knew you would miss.

———

You walked up the wooden steps of your neighbors' house, wishing you had said you were busy and didn't have such a big, fat heart.

"Y/N!" the mother greeted happily.

"Hi Mrs. Wilson, you look amazing," you said with a smile.

She was wearing a black dress with white earrings and her hair was neatly put up. She seemed so excited about her night out with her husband and you would be a terrible person to say that you had unexpected plans.

You walked in and were bombarded with hugs from all the kids.

Two of them were twins and they were both two, one of them was four, and the other was five.

This would be a long night.

"Oh, before we go, I wanted to let you know that we felt bad about having just you watch all the kids so we got you a little partner in crime to help you out," Mrs. Wilson said as she got her heels on.

You heard footsteps behind you and turned around to see Ethan leaning against the doorframe between the living room and the kitchen.

He had the smuggest look on his face and you mentally screamed.

No, no, no! This can't be the person she's talking about! I can't possibly spend three whole hours with the guy I've been crushing on for literally ever," you thought.

"Bye!" Mr. and Mrs. Wilson called before rushing out the door, never giving you the chance to protest.

"Gonna be a long night, huh, baby?" Ethan said as he walked towards you.
