~ summary: your diary is put in the wrong hands and makes things very awkward with your crush, grayson ~
———————————————————————
dear diary,
i swear i'm falling harder for grayson every day. he's just so cute and funny and nice to me. i wish i could tell him how i really feel but i'm too scared to. everyone will make fun of me if he says he doesn't feel the same way and i can't deal with that. so, until the day i build up enough courage, i'll just be in love with him from afar.
You closed your diary with a soft smile and got out of bed to get ready for school.
Grayson was a guy that you had been crushing on since middle school. You had been bottling up your feelings for him since the minute you started falling for him, but you were not about to tell him anytime soon.
You had already wasted ten minutes writing and the school bus would be coming in twenty minutes, so you were kind of rushing around to get ready.
You quickly threw on an outfit that you had picked out the night before and went to the bathroom to do everything you needed to do in there.
While you were doing your makeup, you peered over at the time to see that the bus would be coming in five minutes.
You mentally went through what was in your backpack and remembered that your agenda book was sitting on the bedside table in your room because you had been looking at it the night before.
"Mom!" you called.
"Yes?" she replied.
"Can you grab my agenda book! It's in my room!"
You heard footsteps and the creak of your door when your mom entered.
Unfortunately, the door of your bathroom was closed so you unable to see what was going on in your room.
Your mom went over to your bedside table and sighed. There were two books. Your diary and your agenda book. They were the same color so she couldn't ask what color it was.
You were going to be late so she quickly grabbed one and went to shove it into your bag.
Once your makeup was done, you ran out the door, dragging your backpack along behind you with your shoes yet to be tied.
———
You had never checked to see if your mom had grabbed the right book, which would've been smart because she hadn't. And you had also neglected to check to see if your backpack was zipped up.
So, after a bumpy ride to school, your diary remained cozy between your binders. But, of course, because life treats us so unfairly, your precious book decided to magically unwedge itself from it's secure spot and practically hang by a thread as you bounced through the halls.
You spotted Grayson in the halls and glanced at him for a moment, exhaling a frustrated sigh.
Why did he have to be so perfect?
Grayson looked over at you and smirked, making your insides melt, and it felt like your pupils turned into hearts like in the cartoons.
The bell rang and you gasped. You hadn't even gone to your locker to get your stuff yet!
You hurried across the hall to get to your locker, and that was when your entire reputation hidden between two covers of a book slipped out of your backpack and hit the floor.
