~ summary: you and grayson go into a diner to wait out the pouring rain ~

"That science test today was way too hard," Grayson complained. "She didn't even teach us half the stuff on there!"
"I know right, what are the point of study guides if it doesn't help you study!"
You both laughed and continued walking down the street.
You were on the way home from school and, to your contentment, it was Friday, so you had the whole weekend ahead of you.
Suddenly, thunder cracked loudly above your heads and rain gradually began to trickle from the clouds.
"Shit," Grayson mumbled, holding out his hand to feel the raindrops against his palm. "It's only gonna pick up and we're still ten minutes away from home."
You quickly looked around the area you guys were in and spotted a small diner up the street.
"Let's go in there and wait it out," you said, pointing at the building.
Grayson agreed and you both jogged to the diner, pulling open the door to escape the rain that was quickly getting heavier.
You both laughed as you tore your jackets off due to the sudden blast of heat in the building.
You looked around and immediately noticed that there was not a single customer in sight, only an older woman at the register with a bored expression on her face. She lit up at the sight of you guys, likely her first customers of the day.
"Welcome, welcome!" she beamed.
The rain began to pour harshly and thunder boomed outside the diner, making you feel all warm and cozy in the comfort of the building.
You both waltzed up to the counter and your eyes glazed over the food options for a short second before smiling at the woman.
"What are you getting?" Grayson asked, searching through his wallet for his credit card.
You would've argued about paying but you forgot your wallet at home, having no idea that this would take place.
"I'll just have a salad and a milkshake," you said.
Grayson finally pulled out his credit card and rested it between his fingers.
"And I'll have a cheeseburger and a Sprite," he added.
The woman nodded, took and swiped Grayson's card, and tapped the information into the register before dashing off to prepare the food. Poor woman was working by herself.
You and Grayson chose a booth in the back and plopped down across from each other.
"When do you think the rain will stop?" you asked, playing with a ketchup packet.
"Not sure. Hopefully soon because I really want to get home. The weekend is starting without me."
After only a few minutes, the woman called for you, holding a tray of food. You swiftly stood up, holding up your finger to Grayson, gesturing for him to stay and you'd get it.
You walked up to the woman wearing a smile and took the tray from her.
"You're very lucky," she said suddenly, keeping you from walking away.
"Why?" you asked.
"Your boyfriend. He seems like a very sweet boy," she replied, her voice like honey.
