The sun was beating down on you and you were constantly wiping off the beads of sweat that were running down your forehead.

Of course, the popular kids decided to host the annual bonfire on the hottest day of the year.

They did this every summer. They would invite everyone from school to hang out by a huge bonfire along the beach sometime after dark.

It was pretty fun, not gonna lie. But, today was far too hot to be anywhere but inside with the air conditioning.

You decided to sit along the water because the breeze was nicer and there was shade from the trees overhead.

That's when you noticed that Ethan Dolan and two other guys were jumping off a low cliff into the lake.

Ethan was extremely popular and one of the hosts of the bonfire.

He was wearing nothing but loose red swim trunks. They hung low on his body, showcasing his abs, all the way down to his insane v-line that all the girls drooled over.

You had to admit, he was really hot.

You guys were good friends and had been so since freshman year. Now juniors, your friendship was still prominent to the point where you'd text often and sometimes even facetime when you were bored.

You were also close with some of the popular girls so some people saw you as part of the popular crowd, although you wouldn't put yourself there.

"Yo Y/N! You should come in the water!" Ethan called.

He was splashing around in the lake, making his way back to the grass.

You had a red bikini underneath your yellow sundress but you weren't sure if you wanted to jump in. Everyone was watching so it was a lot of pressure.

But, then again, it would be nice to cool off in the water.

Ethan walked over and held out his hand for you to take.

You sighed and pulled off your sundress, taking his hand so he could help you up the cliff.

As you mentally prepared yourself so you could jump off, you couldn't help but notice Ethan staring at you. It made you feel all tingly and a shade of red crept along your face.

The water was much farther down than you had anticipated, and your immaculate fear of heights did not help.

You started getting dizzy and began to overthink it so you quickly turned your back to the edge and covered your eyes with your hands.

"No way am I doing that," you stated.

"C'mon, don't be a baby," Ethan taunted.

You didn't move, so Ethan sighed and you could feel two arms wrap around your torso.

Before you could say anything, Ethan jumped backwards off the cliff with you in his arms.

You screamed and your body quickly hit the surface of the water.

Ethan slowly let go of you, leaving you to swim back to the land on your own.

Everyone was laughing and cheering along the shore, but you were pissed.

"What the hell!" you snapped, shoving Ethan lightly.

"Sorry, but it didn't look like you were going to do it yourself," he retorted.
