Cartman walked around the street, wondering why no one was around. He had gotten lonely, and was wondering where all his friends were. Were they pretending he was dead again? What a nightmare that was. He heard laughter coming from a red house next to Butters'.
The kids heard a knock.
"I'll get it." Emily said.
She walked over and opened the door to find Eric Cartman standing there.
"You." he said.
"What?" she asked.
"You invited every single guy in this class to come and play video games with you but not me?!"
"I-I asked some of them to ask the other classmates. Maybe they forgot about you." Emily said.
"Yeah, right." Cartman replied. "Just don't get on my bad side again, b*tch."
"What the hell was that?!" Emily shouted as soon as he closed the door.
"Cartman's an a**hole, Emily." Kyle said. "Don't worry about him."
"After what he said, I see why you didn't want him to come." Emily said.
She was still uncomfortable about the whole thing, though. The last thing she wanted was to get on anyone's bad side.
The boys all left to go home around 6. Emily walked up to James' room, where he was reading a book.
"Oh, hey, Em. Your friends leave?" he asked.
"Yeah. They had to get home for dinner." she replied.
"Oh, all right." James said. He got a closer look at her face.
"Em, you all right? I thought you were happy to finally have friends."
"I am." she said. "I've never been happier."
"Then why do you look really nervous?"
Emily sighed. She didn't want to say anything, but this was James. The one person she trusted more than anyone else.
"This one kid came while we were playing." she began. "I told the guys I sat with at lunch to invite the rest of the guys in the class. For some reason, they didn't say anything about it to him, and he blamed me for it. When I tried to explain, he didn't believe me."
"Ah, I'm sure he'll get over it." James assured her.
"I hope so..." Emily said.
But she still wasn't so sure.
Emily's parents were busy that night, so Danny was in charge of the house.
She was sitting in front of the TV eating some Instant Ramen when Danny and Ian came over to her.
"What do you want?" she asked impatiently.
"We saw all those guys here, Em." Ian said.
"I know. I finally have friends for once." Emily replied.
"Nice going, sis! Didn't know ya had it in ya!" Danny commented.
"Ew! You two are disgusting." Emily said. "All we did was play video games."
"Okay, we'll humor you for now." Danny said. "But we know what REALLY went down."
"Whatever. Now get the hell out of here." Emily said.
Ah, older brothers. Sure, they annoyed Emily to no end, but she knew that if she was ever in serious danger, they'd protect her the entire time.
She went to bed, thinking about all the new friends she had made.
There was Stan, kind and cool.
Token, who was just a great guy.
Craig, whose snarkiness entertained her a lot.
Tweek, who she wanted to just hug.
Butters, who was sweet from the get-go.
Kenny, who entertained her with his perverted tales.
But the two she bonded with the most.
Clyde, the sweetheart that always kept her laughing.
And Kyle, the sweet and helpful Jewish boy.
Emily went to sleep without crying for the first time in a long time.
