Morning came. Emily and Kyle woke up around the same time.
"Ah!" both shouted simultaneously.
"Oh my gosh I'm sorry I didn't mean that." Emily said, turning more red with each word.
"Don't worry about it." Kyle insisted, though he was fairly red himself. "It's not your fault."
Emily's eyes shot around the room, to avoid looking at Kyle. She looked out their window.
"Whoa!" she said, going over to the window.
All she saw was snow. It had to be at least ten feet high. And from the looks of things, it didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.
"It snows in Connecticut, right?" Kyle asked.
"In winter, yeah." Emily confirmed. "The worst we get is usually a foot. Never anything like this."
"Welcome to Colorado." Kyle joked.
"You're used to this?" Emily asked.
"Yeah. This is pretty standard for us."
"Wow..."
"Oh, good! You two are up." Mrs. Broflovski said as she walked into the room.
"I'll make breakfast before we lose power. Anything in particular you like, Emily?"
"I'm fine with anything." she responded. "Thank you."
She and Kyle continued to stare out at the snow.
"Oh, I need to call Stan for something." Kyle said. "Wait here."
"All right." Emily said.
Kyle went upstairs and grabbed his iPhone. He went into his contacts and called Stan.
"Hey, dude." Stan said.
"Stan, you'll never believe this. Emily has to stay here during the storm." Kyle said.
"What? Why?"
"I remembered that Cartman knows where she lives, so I ran over to her place and told her to come to my house for the afternoon, but the snowstorm hit before she left so she's stuck here."
"Dude. That's awesome. Clyde's gonna hate you."
"Yeah, but Clyde's had more girls than me, anyway."
"True. And I'm sure he'll get over it. He's too nice."
"Exactly. Gotta go, Stan."
"Bye."
Kyle ran back downstairs, where Emily was eating a plate of waffles on the couch while watching Terrance and Phillip.
Kyle went to his mom to grab a plate, and joined her.
When they finished their food, Kyle wanted to do something with her.
"Like what?" Emily asked.
"I know something. It's a little dorky, but you might like it."
Little did Kyle know that Emily was sort of into dorky.
Kyle turned off the lights and grabbed blankets and a flashlight.
He and Emily began setting up the blankets to make a fort. When they were satisfied with their work, Kyle took the flashlight and shone it on his face.
They told each other scary stories the whole morning, though they always had some sort of hilarious twist.
Though they agreed that the best one was Emily's story about a lesbian walking into a graveyard and having all the gay ghosts fight over her before one of them shoved her up his butt.
They had run out of creative juices and were just telling each other nonsense stories when Kyle finally spoke up.
"Hey, Emily?"
"Yeah."
"I'm having a really good time with you. I think that--"
"You like me?"
Crap...but, yes.
Kyle nodded and turned red.
Normally I'd assume it's a joke. I mean, no one's ever liked me.
But something about Kyle tells me he's genuine. And I really like him, too.
Nothing to lose.
"I'm... really happy to hear that, Kyle. Because...I sort of...like you too."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Well, should we..."
Emily stopped him by pressing her lips to his. She'd never kissed before, so she had no idea if she was doing it right, but something told her it didn't matter.
"After the snowstorm ends, wanna maybe go out sometime?" Kyle asked.
"Yeah." Emily replied. "I'd like that. Does this make us...official?"
"Yeah." Kyle replied. "I guess it does."
Score.
