Rose ended up at Vincent's place once again, after the two actually went to a restaurant for lunch this time, instead of ordering take out like usual.
"So, did you get my texts earlier?" He asked.
"Yeah, I just haven't been on my phone all day. I got the wrath from my mom about not answering anything today." Rose chuckled dryly.
"It's not really that big of a deal because I assume you already know, but I was just telling you that Jax was going Nomad." He sighed.
"Yeah, I know about that. Sadly." Rose pouted, and frowned as she looked up at Vincent. "Do you think it's a good idea?"
He just shrugged, "I mean, Clay and Jax aren't getting along, you even witnessed it at the dinner. Jax is just trying to find the easiest way to get away from Clay. At least, that's what I think."
"You're not wrong." Rose exhaled, trying to take it all in. Jax is going Nomad. It wasn't really hitting her hard yet, since she had a feeling the 'meeting' might change his mind.
"How do you feel about it?" Vincent asked, as the two got settled onto the couch.
"I blame my Dad." Rose started. "I think he's scared to give up being president, knowing that Jax is next in line."
"That makes sense." Vincent shrugged.
"Who knows what's going on in Jax's mind." Rose lied. She knew John Teller was on Jax's mind, which is why he's going Nomad. But telling Vincent that just seemed like too much to explain. Rose's mind wandered elsewhere about John Teller.
She wanted to know more about him. Regardless whether he's her actual father or not.
"Can we just watch movies for the rest of the day? I just don't want to think about Jax going nomad right now." Rose sighed, and grabbed a blanket before laying with Vincent.
"Alright, what do you wanna watch?"
-
Rose and Vincent fell asleep halfway through the first movie, but woke up to the sound of Rose's phone going off.
"Turn it off." Rose groaned.
"It's not mine." Vincent groaned back, causing Rose to sit up quickly, grabbing her phone.
"Hello," Her voice was raspy, but she woke up quickly realizing she didn't even see who was calling her.
"Are you coming, Rosalie?" It was Gemma.
"Uh... Yeah, yeah I am." Rose winced, mentally cursing herself for forgetting about it. "I'm on my way right now."
"Okay, see you soon." Gemma said before hanging up.
"Who was that?" Vincent yawned sleepily.
"My mother. I forgot she called some family meeting." Rose lied, acting like this meeting wasn't a big deal. "I'll call you later, yeah?" She lied once more, knowing tonight will be an emotional rollercoaster ride.
"Okay. See you later, babe. Good luck with the meeting." He joked and Rose smiled, before pecking his lips, and heading home.
Rose's heartbeat quickened at the sight of Jax's motorcycle in the driveway. She took a deep breath, before parking her car, and walked towards the front door.
She opened it to see Jax, Tara, Clay, and Gemma already at the table.
"Finally. Would anyone like to tell me what this meeting is about now?" Jax hissed.
"Rosalie, come sit." Gemma said sadly. Jax frowned as he looked at Rose, then back at Gemma. Rose scanned the room once more before making her way to a seat that the table.
It didn't feel real.
She sat next to Gemma, and nodded at Gemma for her approval to tell the guys.
Why was she doing this? This will make Jax stay. Why did she feel like she shouldn't? He and Clay also needed to know the truth. The men behind this needed to pay for all the nightmares and emotional, and mental scarring that those creatures caused.
Rose decided to stay quiet throughout the whole confession, and just stared at her hands the whole time, letting a few tears stream down her face every now and then.
Tara grabbed onto Rose's hands, attempting to comfort Rose in this difficult confession. Rose frowned at Tara. She wondered why she even still cared about her. All Rose ever did was treat her like shit, yet Tara still treated Rose with respect.
In the moment, Rose changed her feelings towards Tara.
When Gemma finished, Jax stood up from the table, and walked over to her, taking her hands in his.
Rose didn't even want to look at Clay, or she would end up sobbing. The look he had on his face was worse than anything he could say right now.
Soon enough, Jax walked over to Rose, pulling her into an embrace. This is when Rose lost it.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner..." Rose sniffled, and Jax just held onto her tighter.
Jax released the hug and looked at her.
"This wasn't your fault. It was ours." Jax simply said, before glancing at Clay, who held Gemma's hands in his.
Rose frowned, and wiped the tears from her face as she followed Jax and Tara outside.
Tara hugged Rose, before getting on Jax's motorcycle.
Jax cupped Rose's face, before kissing her forehead.
"I know I can't fix this. But know that they will pay. I'll make sure of it, sis." He frowned, trying not to cry. Rose simply nodded, and grabbed onto his hands one last time before he got onto his motorcycle, and drove off with Tara.
Rose watched as the two drove away.
Once again, it didn't feel real. She waited until she couldn't hear the motorcycle anymore, before she decided to go back inside.
What she saw broke her heart, and closed the door behind her.
Clay had his forehead rested against Gemma's, as he held onto her hands.
The slam from the door caused the two to glance up at Rosalie.
Clay kissed Gemma on the forehead, before getting up and walking towards Rosalie.
She didn't realize she hadn't moved from her spot at the front door until Clay walked to her, before engulfing her into an embrace.
Gemma's heart sunk at the sight of Rose and Clay hugging. She knew that Clay would blame himself for the rest of his life.
Rose and Gemma both had regrets about telling the two men, but then again, it almost felt like it needed to be said.
Gemma then stood up, and walked over to the two, before Clay pulled her into the hug.
Who knew how long they stood there, but Rose wished she never left his embrace, as she fell asleep that night, disappearing into another classic nightmare, from that night.
