A LOUD THUD of what sounded to be a van door closing, came from outside the house. Dahlia shot up from the desk rubbing her eyes. She fell asleep at the computer, a tiny patch of drool left on the desk. Leave it to Dahlia to have her mouth hanging open while she was asleep. She looks out of the window, adjusting her eyesight to the pitch darkness of the night. A familiar van comes into her vision. Her eyes widened, stumbling away from the window, heading towards the quantum chamber. Dahlia knocked hastily, her hands spread open across the glass. She sees Ava shuffling in her sleep, before seeing her eyes open. Ava sits up, staring confused at Dahlia.
"What's wrong?" she asked, her voice was muffled due to the glass around her.
"Hope and Scott are here." Dahlia spoke.
"I know what to do now, Dahlia. Leave it to me." Ava laid back on the bed.
"But...Ava..." Dahlia was hesitant.
"Just hide, Lia!" Ava snapped. Dahlia nodded, proceeding to her bedroom, closing the door behind her. Pulling out her phone, she quickly sends a message to Bill.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Ava." Dahlia whispered to herself. She peaks out from the corner of the room, seeing the miniature silhouettes of Scott and Hope entering the house. The two grew back to their normal size as they walk towards the miniaturised laboratory. Dahlia looked back at the quantum chamber, seeing Ava lying motionless on the bed. Fear overtakes Dahlia's senses, planning to head towards the quantum chamber, before she sees Ava exiting the chamber silently. She conceals herself, before phasing in front of Dahlia. Ava pressed her hand up to Dahlia's mouth, preventing her from speaking.
"I said I'll handle this Dahlia." Ava seemed angry with Dahlia.
"I'm sorry." Dahlia whispered. Ava ignored her, phasing away from her. Dahlia felt the guilt hitting her hard. She watches Scott and Hope once again around the corner of her door. Hope turns towards the quantum chamber, as Scott held the laboratory in his arms.
"Um Scott. She's gone." Hope spoke up. Ava soon phases back into the room, subduing Hope. Before Scott could retaliate, Ava's foot impacts against his head, knocking him out. The two slumped on the floor, as Dahlia moved out from her room.
"I told you I can handle it." Ava smirked. Dahlia shook her head, walking over towards an unconscious Scott.
"Yeah...sure." Dahlia mumbled.
"Lia. I'm sorry for snapping at you." Ava gripped her wrist. Dahlia bites down on her lip, trying to control her feelings after Ava removes her hand. She could not risk showing her true feelings to her friend. She did it once and the end result was a complete disaster.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it." Dahlia muttered. She did not want to fight with Ava. It's the last thing on her mind. Dahlia walked towards Hope, holding her underneath her arms. She drags Hope's unconscious body along the floor, before propping her up in a chair. Ava placed Scott in the chair next to Hope. Dahlia tied up Hope and Scott around their wrists, to prevent them from escaping.
