Imagine: Stanley acts like he hates you, but does he really?

Y/n's POV

I always love hanging out with the losers club, except for Stan. He hates me, and I don't know what I did to him. I'm always being nice to him, but all he does is make rude remarks or rolls his eyes. I need to figure out why he hates me so much.

Today we were going to the quarry to go swimming. Beverly was coming too, which I'm happy for so I'm not the only girl. Bev and I came a few minutes later then the boys, so we both pulled up behind them.

We heard the five boys talking to each other about someone. "Let's go behind that bush and listen to what they're saying." Bev whispered. I nodded my head and followed her closer to them.

"Why do you hate her so much?" Ben asked. "It's none of your business. Anyway, when are they going to get here? I just want to get the day over with." Stan groaned.

"We're already here." Bev said jumping out of the bush. I came out right after her and we made our way over to them. "How much did you hear?" Eddie asked.

"About the last 4 sentences." I said with I smile. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Stan roll his eyes. No surprise there.

"Can we just jump already? My feet hurt from standing here!" Richie complained. "Right ahead of you!" I exclaimed while Bev and I jumped off the cliff. We both did a flip before landing in the water.

The boys came after us and swam up to where we were. "Chicken Fight!" Richie yelled. Bev and I wanted to play, so I got on Bev's shoulders and we were versing Richie and Stan.

"Alright Trashmouth! Square up!" I joked. "It's on!" Richie laughed back. We kept playfully pushing each other, until I knocked Richie down. He took Stan down with him and they both went tumbling into the water. I got off Bev's shoulders and we high fived.

Once Stan came to the surface, he said "Thanks a lot, Y/n." sarcastically while giving me a death glare which I ignored. We swam around more until all of us got tired. We made our way out of the water and to the rocks, where we will sit.

Beverly and I laid on our towels while the boys sat on the rocks. I took out my radio and played some music. I could tell the boys were starring at us, but I don't think they know.

Bev and I continued to sit until she lifted her head up, so I did too. All the boys looked away quickly. "It's only afternoon, maybe we should go get something to eat? I'm starving!" Richie suggested.

"Sounds good!" I said with a smile. "Do we all have to go?" Stan asked while giving me a slight look.

"You d-don't have t-to, Stan. I-It's not like y-y-you're being forced t-to go." Bill said while putting his shirt on.

We all nodded in agreement. I stood up and picked up my clothes. "Im going to go change over there." I said while pointing to some bushes. "Just change here, we don't mind." Richie smirked.

"Ew Richie! Who would want to see her change? It's better off that she just goes away completely." Stan rudely said.

"Fine, Stan, ill leave. See you guys." I said while running away. I ran back up the hill and towards my bike. I then jumped on it and rode off to my house, tears slowly gliding down my face from embarrassment.

No one's POV

Y/n ran away, and immediately the rest of the kids started yelling at Stan. "Stan! What the heck?" Eddie yelled. "That was totally unnecessary." Bev sighed.
"I-I'm sorry guys. I told you I can't control my feelings! It's just so hard." Stan cried while burring his face in his hands.

Everyone just sighed and tried to comfort the confused boy.

Y/n's POV

I walked down the streets of Derry, on my way to the pharmacy. I needed to get some more sunscreen because it's summer.

I walked through the doors, and made my way over to the isle. I went up to pay, when I saw Eddie down one of the isles. I tried to hide, but I guess he saw me.

"Hey Y/n! Are you feeling alright, y'know from yesterday?" He asked with concern. "I-I'm fine. You can tell Stanley that I won't bother him anymore." I sighed while turning around. "Wait! I think you should talk to him. He didn't mean what he said." Eddie said. "I'm pretty sure he did."

"No he didn't! He's just...confused right now." Eddie sighed. "What is he confused about?" I questioned. "Well..that's my place to tell you. Go to him! He's in his father's synagogue right now. Go!" Eddie exclaimed while pushing me out of the store. I dropped my sunscreen on the floor inside, so I guess I'll go back for that later.

I followed Eddie's instructions and started making my way to Stan. On my way, I saw a red balloon float around across the street. "What the.." I mumbled. I just ignored it and kept walking.

Finally, I made it to the building. I opened the doors and stepped inside. It smelled like old furniture. I continued to walk around, until I hear a man's voice.

"Who are you?" He asked. "Hi..I'm Uh..looking for Stan." I nervously said. "Stanley has never mentioned a girl, what is your name?" He asked.
"Y/n L/n" I replied. "Hello Y/n, I'm Stanley's father. If you wish to see him, he's upstairs in my office. But you are not allowed to go in my office." Stan's father said. "Yes, sir. Thank you." I smiled while going up the stairs.

I walked around until I saw a door that said "Donald Uris". I heard a flute play from inside and thought, "Stan doesn't play the flute".

All of a sudden, the door bursts open and out came Stan. He lanes on top of me with a thud, in front of the doorway.

"Stan? What were you doing?" I asked while looking up at him. "Oh Y-Y/n, what are you doing here?" He asked, ignoring my question. "Eddie sent me here. He told me you were..confused about something?" I asked. His eyes widened and he stood up immediately. "Oh uhh Eddie doesn't know what he's talking about, I'm just fine." He said while looking around.

"Eddie sounded serious..you can tell me Stan, I won't-" "Why are you always nice to me when I'm always rude to you?" He asked cutting my off.

"W-what?" I asked startled. "I roll my eyes, give you glares, and say insults, but you continue to treat me like your friend." Stan breathed out while looking anywhere but me. "But you are my friend Stan, just because you are rude to me, doesn't mean that I hate you back." I said with a smile.

"Can we start over, please? I feel like treating you poorly has put such a huge weight of guilt on me." Stan sighed. "Why would you be guilty?" I asked curiously. "B-because I like you, Y/n. Like..a lot." Stan admitted. Then his eyes widened and he started blushing, hard. "I-I'm sorry. I d-didn't mean-" "it's ok! I like you too!" I smiled.

"Oh well uh in that case, want to go out with me? We can get that food that we were going to get yesterday!" He exclaimed.

"Absolutely!"
