Previously...

"You too, y/n/n. I'll see you tomorrow," he smiled as he left the store. I stood there with the biggest smile on my face.

"Y/n! Let's go!" Great yelled at me from the back.

"Coming!" I yelled, collecting my bag and running out of the store.
_______

"What took you so long?" Greta asks me as we walk down the street.

"I don't know," I shrugged. Greta just rolled her eyes. We walked to her house and went into her room.

"What are you doing tomorrow?" Greta asked.

"I don't think I'm doing anything, why?" I answer.

"Well I was thinking we could go to the fair the town is having for the first day of summer," Greta said.

"That's sounds fun, I'll go," I smiled, going to back to the magazine I was reading.

(Time Skip)

It was the next day. I sat in class, playing with my pencil. Surprisingly, I wasn't that excited to go to the fair with Greta. I much rather go with someone else, like Eddie. But Eddie doesn't want to hang out with me. He has his own friends, why would he bother?

I was really happy that school was ending today. No more homework and no more teachers. I would finally be free to do what I want.

Anyway, the bell rang for dismissal . I walked out of class and headed down the hall. I took my backpack from my locker and left. I met Greta outside by the stairs.

"Hey, you ready to go?" I ask.

"Yeah, let me just go to the bathroom real quick," She said before going back inside. I waited by the steps for Greta to come out. As I stood there, I saw Eddie come out of the school with his friends Richie, Bill, and Stan by his side. I watched them walk down the steps. Eddie and I made eye contact for a brief moment. He smiled at me and I just looked away, embarrassed.

Immediately after, Greta came out with a smirk on her face. "What?" I ask.

"nothing, " she said before walking in front of me. I followed her to the fair in the park. When we got there, pretty much our whole school plus some adults were already on the rides. Greta decided that both of us should play carnival games first. I just went with her because I didn't have anyone else to hang out with .

After an hour of being there, Great said to me, "I have to go. My dad is having a dinner party at my house. I'll see you later." And with that she left me in the middle of the crowd. I decided to sit on a bench, watching everyone else (I'm not stalking, ok?)

I spotted Eddie and his friends hanging out by the dunk tank. Richie was concentrating on dunking the man in the tank while the other three watched. I saw Stan tap Eddie's shoulder. He whispered something to Eddie, causing him to turn around and look right at me.

My eyes widened as I turned my head in the other direction. I got up and walked quickly through the crowd and out of the park. I went into the pharmacy unintentionally and sat on the floor in one of the aisles out of embarrassment. I tried to hide, I can't believe Eddie caught me staring twice in one day.

I sat there for about 5 minutes, contemplating, until I felt I needed to leave. I walked the quiet streets alone. Everyone was still at the fair, considering it was only 5 o'clock. I didn't know where I was going, I just knew I needed to think.

I'm probably making such a big deal about this small encounter, but it actually is a big deal. I've like Eddie for so long, and this is the first time he's noticed me.

My thought carried on as I ended up at the fair again. I should hang out for a little bit, maybe Greta came back.

I went back to where she left me, by the bench. I sat down and took out a small notebook and a pen from my back pocket. I started to doodle small things, just really bored. I didn't want to go back home because it was dark and lonely. My parents are on a business trip all week.

"Ehem," I heard someone clear their throat from in front of me. I look up to see Stanley Uris.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hi. My friend, Eddie, wanted me to ask you if you wanted to hang out with us. You seem lonely and I don't think Greta is coming back," Stan says. I look at him, trying to read his face to see if this is a joke. He seemed genuine, so I agreed and stood up. I followed him over to the group of friends sitting at a table.

"Hey, y/n," Eddie waves to me. I wave back nervously, looking at each of the boys in front of me.

"So, what do you want to do, lads?" Richie asks.

"W-What about t-the q-quarry?" Bill stutters. We all look at each other and nod.

(Time skip)

The five of us arrive at the quarry. The sun was almost set, the sky getting darker by the second. The boys were arguing about something dumb while I sat on the edge of the cliff. My legs hung over the edge as I sat. I looked down at the calm water, in my own thoughts.

"Whatcha doing?" Eddie suddenly asks, making me jump.

"Oh-um, nothing. Nothing really," I say back.

"I-I was thinking you and I could...I don't know...maybe go to the movies together? Just us," Eddie suggests.

"Like...a date?"

"Yeah, I guess...so what do you say?"

"I'd lov-"

"Y/n! I've been looking for you everywhere!" Greta cuts me off out of no where. She storms over to where Eddie and I were sitting. "Let's go, y/n. You're way better off hanging out with me than girly boy and his friends," Greta sneers.

"But I-"

"Y/n!"

I look from Greta to Eddie. I didn't know what to do. I mean, Greta is my only friend and I'd have nobody with out her, but on the other hand, I really enjoyed Eddie's company. I just don't know who to choose.

A/n: I left this off on a cliff hanger because I have nothing else better to do :/
