Chapter Seven
I sat on the edge of the tub, washing the filth off of Lily's skin. She sighed in content as it slipped off of her and into the murky water. She leaned her head back against the end of the tub and played with the bubbles closest to her hands. I smiled down at her before asking her to sit up so I could thoroughly clean her hair. She happily complied.

I lathered the fruity scented soap in my hands and began massaging it into her hair. She closed her eyes, most likely enjoying the comfort it gave her.

"You didn't have to stick up for me, you know. You will probably get in a lot of trouble for it later. You also made an enemy out of Caroline. She's a scary enemy to have," Lily rambled, her blue eyes searching my grey ones.

"Lily, breathe. Of course I will stick up for you. Always. Besides, I would have made an enemy out of her sooner or later," I shrugged, trying to make Lily laugh. It worked.

After she stopped laughing, though, she leaned up and hugged me. Her wet body soaked through my dress but I could care less. I hugged the girl back. She slowly pulled away and allowed me to finish her hair. I made sure to rinse it really well before moving on to the conditioner.

Once she was all clean and relaxed, I pulled her out of the tub and wrapped her into a fluffy towel. She cuddled into it as she dried herself off. I grabbed the clothes off of the toilet that I had found in my closet. They were the closest fitting clothes I could find.

Brand new, untouched undergarments, a pair of soft shorts, and a tank top. She hurriedly put them on. Her small body still drowned in the clothes, but it was better than nothing. I led her into my room after draining the water and let her curl her body into my bed.

I grabbed the food and sat myself next to her. "You won't be able to eat a bunch right away because it will make you sick. But if you take it slow, your stomach will soon get accustomed to normal eating habits," I informed Lily.

Lily nodded tiredly and began picking at the food. She nibbled lightly on a few things and munched down others. Once she had eaten almost the whole plate, she handed it back to me and smiled gratefully. I set it on the nightstand by my bed.

"I think you should stay in my room tonight," I informed her.

"But my brother," she argued back weakly as her eyes began to droop down.

"He will be fine for the night. You can go back in the morning," I whispered, gently brushing hair off her face. She muttered her agreement.

Lily burrowed herself in my blankets and shimmied a little bit so that the only part of her body peeking out from under it was her forehead. I laughed quietly and laid down next to her. She unconsciously moved closer to me and cuddled into my side. I stiffened at first, but the sound of her gentle breathing brought me back to the real world. I smiled at the young girl and cuddled right along with her.

Only three minutes later, she was fast asleep. I would like to say that it was the same for me, but my mind was on overdrive. It was just not ready to go to sleep. Too many questions over flowed it, along with the overload of information buzzing through my mind.

I used to be some nobody who worked at a dead end job to barely get by. Now I'm some hybrid princess from a different world. This is every book readers dream come true. But all I want to do is curl up in a ball and forget this ever happened.

I thought up so many scenarios of how incredible my birth mother might be. None of those scenarios involved a mother who cares more about her royal luxury than her own subjects. I sighed inwardly when I realized sleep was not going to come to me any time soon. I turned slightly to look at the alarm clock. The flashing numbers read midnight. I groaned.
