Chapter Twenty One
We made it to the castle in record time, and back to my room just as quickly. We ended up getting there right as Saxon did. He waved Cameron off and opened the door for me."The queen told me you might have more control of your powers today. Is that true," Saxon questioned once he had closed the door behind us.
"I hope so," I laughed, making sure to avoid sharing what I did to gain that control.
"I guess we'll find out."
I nodded, trying to ignore how nervous I was starting to get. If this doesn't work, then I don't know what will. I shook out my muscles and tried to ignore that nervousness. This isn't going to go well if my mind isn't clear.
"Move the chair," Saxon ordered.
I nodded and took a deep breath. I've got this. Even if the meditation didn't work, I'll figure something else out. With that in mind, I ordered the chair to come.
To my amazement, it did. This time, it didn't come flying at me, but glided smoothly across the floor and into my hand. I couldn't help but let out a little triumphant squeal.
Saxon grinned. "Let's make sure that wasn't a fluke."
I nodded and moved the chair to where he was standing, making sure it was positioned so that he could sit down. He did. Then I decided to get creative. I reached out with my mind, looking for the kitchen. Once I found it, I thought about opening the fridge and grabbing the orange juice. Then I grabbed a cup and poured as carefully as I could. Once that was done, I allowed it to zoom through the halls, opening every door in its wake.
I wasn't sure if it worked until a few moments later when my bedroom door busted open and the drink stopped right in front of Saxon's hand. He raised his eyebrows, impressed. Half the orange juice in the cup was gone, probably from how fast I made the drink zoom through the house. Despite that, I just poured a drink from a kitchen I cannot see, with my mind. How cool is that?
We spent the rest of the time practicing like that. Each time, my power never failed me. It's like the meditation fueled me. I felt like I could do anything. For once, the time went by very fast. Before I knew it, Saxon was leaving my room. I sat on my bed for a long time after he left, not quite believing what had just happened.
It really worked. I finally have control of telekinesis. Will it last? Will this only happen after I meditate? Or does it just never go away? I made a mental note to question Rowan or my mother about that later.
My thoughts were disrupted by the door opening and the twins coming in. I smiled in their direction before getting up to grab their food. This time, I hadn't even had to go to the kitchen to make it. My new power allowed me to make it from the comfort of my own bedroom. It was a little hard to do without properly seeing, so all I made was ramen. But you can't go wrong with ramen.
They seemed to agree, because there was no hesitation as they chowed the food down. Our evening went similar to the one last night, and before I knew it, I was asleep.

The next few days went by in a blur. I still got my ass kicked in training, but Sinclair seemed happy with my improvements. According to him, I'm finally doing things without having them written all over my face. He also switched me to a partner that I could actually learn from, rather than one who literally has the power to predict whatever I do next.
Rowan got distant, and I'd like to think it's because he knows he will be leaving soon. Maybe he doesn't want to get attached. The rational part of me knows that's crazy, and he probably just has other things going on. Why my heart always gives him an excuse, I don't know. It would be great if it would stop.
