Two weeks later~
April's Pov
"I swear, that little bitch is just asking for it!" I ranted to Normani as she helped me fold clothes.
"Look, this is unnecessary. You barely know the girl. Just leave it alone and go your own route, we're about to graduate!"
"Damn. What happened to the old Normani? We'd probably be at her doorstep right now."
She chuckled, "I realized that Normani is not gonna get me my own business." She said as she folded my last two shirts. "You're right."
"I'm by your side through whatever, but I just think we don't need to have unnecessary drama. You see how I haven't even spoken to Lauren since that day? Dropped that argument."
"Are you guys really done?" I asked softly, really not wanting to bring the situation up but I had to.
"I think so, for now. I do kinda wish it'd be different but it is what it is."
"We need to go out tonight, get your mind off of things. How 'bout it?" April suggested.
"Sure."
6:30pm
Normani's Pov
After about an hour of dancing in the shower, I got out. I checked my phone to see a text from Lauren.
Lauren: 6:27pm- hey
Normani: 6:32pm- sup
Lauren: 6:34pm- I wanted to apologize how I acted a couple weeks ago, I wasn't really myself. But I'm willing to start over if you are ☺️
My heart raced when I saw that. I kinda want to start over anyway. But I'm wondering if it'll work this time. I don't want to keel starting over.
Normani: 6:37pm- sure. I'm going out to Sandra's tonight. You and Nya are welcome to join us
Lauren: 6:39pm- see you at 9🤓
I smiled even wider when she said that, hopefully, I can keep this smile all night.
||Sandra's|| 9:10pm
"We haven't been here since the second year of college right? Damn we got to get out more girl." April said as we stepped our of the car.
"Oh yeah, I invited Lauren and Nya to join us."
"What?! Come on 'Mani you know me and Nya don't get along," April answered madly. "Well you're gonna have to tonight, I'm trying to get my girl back."
"You're lucky I love you." She said with a smirk. I smiled and we walked in to our table.
When we got there we saw Lauren and Nya at our table. Here goes nothing.
"Hey, " I said to Lauren, immediately sharing a hug. April and Nya just shook hands. Well, that's a start.
We then talked a bit and started eating. I noticed Nya and April whispering a lot, I was kind of confused but also worried.
"Me and April are gonna go get some drinks. We'll be back."
That's just left me and Lauren, awkward.
"Look, lets get straight to the point. This silent shit isn't working." Lauren said.
"I know. But you can't expect me to just drop somebody I known since I was three. She helped me out when my parents didn't accept the fact that I like girls. When I couldn't pay some of my bills, she paid them. When I nearly got jumped she helped me. She thought this was more than a friendship and it wasn't. The situation is done. I'm sorry Lauren, I can't let April go. My loyalty for her too high and vice versa."
Lauren knew I was right, she knew if she was in my shoes she would've done the same thing. "Well, I need an apology from her. A damn good one. All the nights I cried, all the tissue boxes crowding up my aunts living room. Now it's on my record and I be blessed if I get a good job."
April and Nya walked in. Time to end all this shit.
"I and Lauren are gonna try and work it out. Before we do that Y'all need to."
Lauren and April walked up to each other. They stared at each other, then after a while, they smiled and shared a hug. Now everything us good.
