{30: Answers pt.1}

"I cannot fuck up this chance, Alia. This is the only way."

"Do you understand how much I'm putting at risk already? I could lose my license!"

"Please, 'Lia, they don't deserve her. I do! She's fucking mine!"

He then throws a knife at the wall, nearly hitting her.

"Okay okay okay, I'll do it! But you owe me so much."

"Is 5 grand enough?"

Alia smirks, "give me 30 days."

She then leaves.

"Bitches will do almost anything for money," he chuckles while he counts the rest of his stash. "She'll be mine soon."

Lauren's pov

I go back to school today and honestly I've never been so embarrassed. Good thing I only have a year left 'cause college has really broke me.

All I can think about is Normani and my child. I've prayed every night ever since, I just hope I don't lose the only real family I've ever had. She's stuck by me through all of this I won't ever find another her even if I searched. But that's the thing, I don't wanna search, I already have what I wanted.

Dinah's picking me up in a few so talking to her on the way to school with help tremendously. I go downstairs and make me some oatmeal and then get dressed.

"Have you thought about therapy? Not that I don't mind listening I really don't, but a therapist might help more than I can."

"I don't know, I really don't feel comfortable telling a stranger my business," I say as I cross my arms.

  "Aww, 'Lo I felt the same way. But she actually helps. She doesn't judge me and her advice really helps."

  Dinah's eyes then lit up.

  "What's wrong?" I asked.

  "I almost forgot to tell you, they assigned me Normani's case."

  "Case? What do you mean?"

  She sighs, "they didn't tell you?"

  "I haven't been able to call the office back I'm just too afraid of what I'll hear, D'." I then frown.

  "I understand nugget, but I'll tell you what I know but I really think you should call the doctor back so you can know everything. Good news is Normani and the baby is okay but apparently there was a fuck up with her medication and that's what made her sick apparently."

  "So someone's trying to kill her?" I start to become tense. Who the hell would want to hurt her?

  "Yes. But I don't think it's about her really. The baby's is completely fine it's just Normani. But the baby had to rely on her to stay alive and as soon as they mentioned her pregnancy to the pharmacy she woke up. So yeah someone's in that hospital is either plotting on the baby or helping someone plot."

I was speechless, there are adoption agencies and insemination so why would someone want my kid so bad?

  Nothing has been making sense lately. But I know Dinah she doesn't give up on what she believes in so I'll know she'll catch whoever is doing this. I hope she catches them before it's too late.

"I hate that I had to put that in your head before school I thought you already knew, nugget."

We then pull up at my school.

"Call me if you need a ride home." I nod and wave and then proceed into the school.

First day back, twice again.

(Back at Dinah's office)

I sat in my office, staring blankly at these papers in front of me. I just don't get how someone would want someone else's baby. Unless, it isn't someone else's baby.

That's when Agent D.D from my team walked in.

"This paper was stuffed in her catheter. It's a note."

"Where hope comes, trouble follows." I said.

"That's from a book made in the 60's. This woman had an artificial insemination and apparently the sperm was his and he wanted it back and once she had the baby he killed her and took him."

Agent D.D eyes grew big. "Well, if thats his plan then we have to catch this dude before he gets that far."

"Alright, call the place where she had her insemination and find out the donor, once you find that out he may be our killer."

This chapter is kind of shitty but as the story continues it will get better. Bye!
