Chapter 8: Carnival Kisses

Okay you should know where the disclaimer is by now. Anyway, this is gonna be a very adorable chapter with lots of fluff :D However, I cannot take all the credit, this idea was given to me @_Something_witty, so this is dedicated to you my dear! Alright Pineapples, CHAAAAARGE!

3rd Person P.O.V.

"Hey Jess, got a minute?" White Tiger called out. There were not many rules when it came to the bet that was made almost a week ago, so Ava thought she'd try and increase her odds of winning.

"Of course Ava, but I'm about to go the lab to meet-" She said politely, but got cut off.

"Amadeus, I know, I know. I was gonna give you these," Ava shoved some carnival tickets into her hands. "You've both been working hard, and I'm not going this year. But I got these tickets online, and thought that you might enjoy them."

"Aww thanks Ava, that's really nice of you. I think I'll ask Amadeus if he wants to go with me. When do they expire?" Ava was thinking that she might win the bet, but she saw the silvery pink gleam in her eyes and felt guilty. What am I doing? She didn't have time to think as she looked down to see Jess giving her a huge hug. Ava hugged her back and smiled. Screw the bet. As long as she's happy. Jess ran off to the labs, being really excited.

"Messing with her head to win the bet?" Ava turned, the happiness deflating out of her like a balloon. Scarlet Spider was standing behind her, arms folded against his chest. Ava glared at Scarlet, and walked over to him. She was two inches away from his face and said, "Screw that bet, screw the fifty dollars, screw all of it. I don't care who says what first, I just want her to be happy." He raised an eyebrow.

Ava walked sharply into his shoulder, almost knocking him back. Pain shot through Scarlet's arm, but he had a new level of respect for Ava. But he'd never tell her that.

"AMADEUS!" Jess shot into the room like a bottle rocket, leaping up and hugging a standing Iron Spider. He loved the embrace, but he was almost knocked down. Jess was only 130 pounds, so he could pick her up easily, but imagine 130 pounds trying to knock into you. He wrapped his arms around her, smelling the sweet apple blossom scent from her hair.

"Okay, is there a reason you tried to knock me down, or are you just excited to see me?" Amadeus almost pouted at the fact that she let go of him, but smiled anyway. He took the suit off, and gave her a wide smile.

"Sorry, I need to ask you a question," His eyes light up as she asked, "Will you go to the carnival with me?" Jessabelle held up her tickets. Cho's smile almost faltered, but he realized that she only had two tickets.

"What are friends for?" He was taken aback by her second hug it took it without complaint.

"The only thing is, we gotta convince my dad to let us go."

Amadeus patted her hair and said, "You've been doing so well, I don't see why you can't go out for a change." He reluctantly let her go so he could put on his suit. Once it was up and ready, he picked her up, holding her to his chest, flying off.

Once they were in front of the door, Jess knocked gently on the door. They slid open before her as she clutched her tickets.

"Hello Amadeus, Jessabelle," My father greeted us with a half smile.

"It's just Jess dad, but hey."

"Hello Director," Amadeus was on Jess' side, slightly stepped back.

"Well, go ahead, spit it out. I know you want something." Both Jess and Amadeus raised their eyebrows, eyes wide. How did he know?

"Um... well , you see Dad-," Jess started, but Amadeus stepped to her side.
