Chapter 22: Therapy Session

"Amadeus, there's nothing wrong with you."

Cho sat up from the sick bed and looked at the one armed doctor. "Yeah I know, but-"

"I did as many tests as I could, and aside from a peanut allergy, there's nothing wrong with you. At least not physically."

Amadeus looked down at his hands. "Could it be emotionally?" Connors asked. He considered lying for a moment, but denial wasn't going to help his situation.

"Yeah, I have been feeling different towards Jess, she keeps giving me this flutter-y feeling in my stomach, and I get warm and a little dizzy," Amadeus took a gulp.

Connors chuckled, "Amadeus Cho, you probably just have a crush on her. Why did the seventh smartest man come here for this."

"Doc, I haven't had a crush on anyone since, well ever. I thought I was sick. Now I kind of wish I was sick."

The doctor took a breath. I did not go to college for this. "Why, Jess seems like a lovely girl?"

"That's why. I don't know how to have a crush on a girl or how to date one, especially not her. She's so strong and determined and she's sweet, how do I compare to that at all?"

"You don't. Relationships are about complimenting each other, not competing. You just need to be good for each other, and be there for each other. Do nice something for her, and get out your feelings." 

Amadeus nodded, thanking the doctor before leaving and heading to the dorms. Once he got there, he started scribbling things down in a notebook.

The doors open and Cho looked up to see White Tiger, Dagger, Venom, Miles, Scarlet, Spidey, and M.J. walk in.

"Hey guys, I need some help with something."

Jess was walking around the Triskellion when she was stopped by Ava and Dagger (regular name is Tandy).

"Hey Jessie, are you doing anything right now?" Ava asked innocently

"No, I thought I'd ask Amadeus if he's want to get some foo-,"

"Hey that's great, Ava and I were going to get some food, would you want to come with us?" Tandy pushed.

"Um, sure, no problem, just let me get my wallet from the room-," Jess almost turned around but Ava grabbed her shoulders before she could go, making a waving motion.

"Oh don't worry about it, I have it covered, let's go!" Each of the older girls grabbed Jess' arms and ran off with her to get some food.

About five minutes into eating, Ava and Tandy realized something was buzzing around in Jessabelle's head. Jess played with her french fries in ketchup, looking particularly confused.

"Jess? Anything you wanna talk about?" Tandy tried to pick her brain, but it felt like trying to pick apart Fort Knox with a toothpick.

"It's Amadeus. I feel weird inside about him, I wanna get closer to him, but you guys know what happened when I was in my bubble."

Ava resembled a cat most in this moment, despite not being in costume. "Who told you that?"

Jess swirled her french fry "I kind of pieced it together, and Nova teased loud."

"Well if you like him, you should go for it! Now that Amadeus has seen proof that you'll bounce back and you bubbling isn't the end of the world, he'll be fine." Tandy suggested.

Jess stopped picking with her food, "Yeah, I should at least try I guess, I don't know how to tell him though."

Ava quickly typed on her phone before looking up at Jess, "The right opportunity will present itself,  don't worry. Now c'mon," Ava placed money down on the bill, "Lets go buy some clothes."

"Guys," Amadeus pleaded, "We dont have time for this, Jessabelle and the girls will be back eventually, tease all yoy want later but I need to get this done already."

"Alright alright, don't get your lab coat in a twist, were going." Nova sassed, carrying a cardboard box. "Isn't this just a little overboard?"

"No, I think its nice the little nerdling is owning up to his feelings," Venom said, laying a blanket out.

"And you said he didn't have a romantic bone in his body." Spiderwoman (MJ) teased at Spiderman.

"Hey, no one's right one hundred percent of the time." Spiderman responded.

Miles and Scarlet hopped off a wall, the former dusting off his hands. "We're done hanging up the lights Amadeus. Anything else you need help with?"

"Yeah, just keep Jess away from here until I text you a signal okay? I gotta grab one last thing." Cho slipped on his spider suit while Scarlet complained, "This plan of yours seems  so extra."

"You do know you're talking to the kid who got bored and built us a plane right?" Miles jokes. Scarlet shrugged and walked off.

"Good luck iron nerd." With that, Amadeus scanned his handiwork. He was proud of it and took a breath. It was now or never. He flew off the roof and off to get the final piece in the puzzle.

As Jess walked in the Triskellion with part of her adopted family, she finally  felt figured out. Confidence bubbling within her, Jess ran faster into the building.

"Guys I feel like I gotta go talk to Amadeus, I don't know where he is though-,"

Ava and Tandy jumped in front her. "What's the rush? We should try on the stuff we bought first, you can always talk to Cho later." Tandy tried, but it was useless.

"Thanks but I think I have to talk to him now. Thanks for taking me out today."

"Alright Jess, if you've made up your mind, you've left us no choice." Ava said with her arms folded. She looked up and motioned down. Jess looked up, and she saw a flash of black and red jump at her before she saw nothing.
