• CHAPTER EIGHT •
REIGN
••••♛••••I watched as Mount Sigil disappears from view, and the carriage taking us to the palace begins to rock on the uneven road.
"What are we suppose to do when we enter court?" Fiona asks.
"We need control of the council. Once they are taken care of, we can begin with ending the 15 year war with the Outlanders." I tell her.
Outlanders were innocents.
They were our neighbours, surrounding around us and protecting out borders in the south. When my father was alive, he would regularly invite the Outlander King and Queen to dinners and parties- we had good relations.
Until my mother blamed them for the assassination of father. We have been at war with them ever since, and Highlanders hated their guts.
After father died, mother announced war on them, and King Victor and Queen Selina agreed to meet with my mother to talk peace treaty and clear their innocence.
And my mother murdered them in cold blood.
She forcefully took Outlander, and made them the 'lesser' slaves for highlanders. It's been a dirty, shameful 15 years, all because of my mother.
There are constant battles, murders and crimes done at the border between our two countries, and it's causing major civil unrest and trouble for our people.
I had to find a way to end it.
"How are we going to handle the Outlander issue. They don't particularly like us or trust us."
"We will have to find their king." I answered Fiona questions. The Outlander family has survived only by one heir the son of the late King and Queen.
"Will he want to meet with the people who murdered his family?" Fiona asked.
She was right. I turned to Harvey.
"Harvey, I'm going need you to help with something. I need you to try and locate the king of Outlander- King Fabien."
He nodded.
"I can get to the computer systems. See what they have on file as info about him."
"I will come with you." Holgan added.
"I don't need a sitter." Harv muttered.
"Harvey. Let Holgan come, show him how good you can be with computers." I suggested. He lightly sighed and rolled his eyes before nodding.
He arrived at Gaia Palace gates, the huge, tall, white and golden fence facing us.
It had been ages since I saw those gates. I didn't think I would ever see them again. And I didn't quite know how to feel about them. They were the doors to my future and even though they were covered in gold, all I saw was red.
"State your business."
"I'm general Holgan, with the Sigil Army fleet. I've come with the rightful Queen of Highlander. Queen Aura Kassandra."
